Goodbye?

The air rushes past me and the fog splits reveal what's beyond me, more fog. I take it all in. The humid air the blinding fog and tall surrounding pine trees.

I throw a rock a few feet in front of me. Slash! All of a sudden the fog blanket uncovers the murky lake that lay below. What I was looking for, a relief from this humid air. I twist my body till I get into a perfect diving position and plummet into the deep dark blue water. I open my eyes in the blinding depths of the water. I kick to the top to see a non foggy spot. It was a small rock island in the middle of the tiny lake. I free styled to it and pull myself up.

"Phoenix!"

I hear an angry Jason call as he quickly swims across to me. Que angery speech in 3, 2, 1

"What do you think you were doing? What if the lake was farther than you thought? You know you can get hurt jumping from that distance! You know this is a death battle challage right?!"

"Finished?"

He nods panting from his little rant.

"I'm sorry won't do it again dad. Now explain why your so frowny and serious Jay?"

"I'm not..."

"Jay... please?"

I bat my eye lashes at him.

"You remember my sister."

He sits at the islands edge with his feet in the water. I slide in beside him and nod.

"You remind me of the younger me sometimes. Carefree, never thinking and wild... I'm just afraid to lose you too or you lose me. Then I can't protect you."

"Oh.."

He puts an arm around me and we sit in silence. I soon get bored and survey the surrounding land. Fog, fog, land, fog, fog, oh water fall!

I dive into the water and swim over to the water fall. A huge river was let into this tiny lake. Where'd all it go once it's in here? Oh well another adventure for another day. I climb onto a mossy rock. Not moss again!

"Ickyyyy!!!"

"Phoenix!"

Oops I forgot about Jason. I tip toe across the rocks to the bank. He comes into view. He carefully walks across the mud covered bank and sits with me on the least muddy part of the bank.

"Stop disappearing!"

He pants again. He's really not keeping up today.

"What's wrong with you?"

"I broke a rib last jump. I'm fine it'll heal on its own."

I step forward reaching for his rib.

"I know you said you don't want any of this stuff but,"

"Please don't touch me. I don't think I can controll myself if you did."

"What do you mean?"

"When you heal me it draws me to you. It makes me want to be with you, to touch you. I've been able to fight it but next time I can't promise you I won't kiss you our worst."

I nod, agreeing to his let it heal idea. I deside I need a wash. I stand and start to undress. I lay my shirt and shorts on the sand. Then reluctantly take my shoes and socks off. I hate moss!

"What you doing?"

Jason says starring at my nearly naked body.

"Having a water fall shower. Want to come?"

He strips off his shirt revealing his perfectly chiseled abs and arms but I cant help but stair at the small bruise on his right side. Then he takes off his shorts, shoes and socks. In nothing but boxers he grabs our weapons and joins me on the moss covered rocks that the water falls onto. I run my fingers across the rock wall behide the water fall. I begin to put my weight on it. I skim along fast, so fast that when there's a small door shaped opening I fall right in. Landing in a strangely well light cave.

"Phoenix?"

"In here!"

I call realising there's an echo I call,

"Echo!"

It repeats back to me and I laugh triumphantly feeling as if I own this cave.

"Are you okay?"

Jason dives though the gap and floats back up beside me.

"This place is cool!"

I swim onto the bank and push some hanging vines apart to reveal a cave cabin with its lights on. I walk towards the door.

"Stop!"

Jason commands. He runs out then returning my staff to me and his sword.

"Here."

He hands me my staff and places his left hand on the door knob. He twists it slowly then steps in. I follow making as little as possible nosie.

"Aahh 2 flies in a we-"

I feel a intense sharp pain in the back of my head, then the world fades to black.
