I'm in my room still packing a few small things that I forgot to pack. Right next to me is Violet Royal, 18 of years and also one of the girls that I'm taking the trip with. Thank the Lord that her dad is letting us use their Jeep because I do not want to be stuffed in my small car. I'm just finishing up putting away my shampoo when my phone starts to ring. Skylar Rose, my best friend that I'm also taking on this trip, is calling me. I answer on the second ring.
"Hello, Sky what's up? Are you ready yet?" I ask.
"Ugh yes, but I feel like I'm forgetting something." Skylar answers.
I take a moment to think and then respond, "You know what I'll be there in like a half an hour to an hour, let me take a shower, and I would advise you to do the same. It's a long way to go." I said.
"Okay, fine see you soon," she says before hanging up.
I look up to see Violet staring at me. I tell her to go downstairs to the kitchen and eat something so we wouldn't have to spend money right away. She goes downstairs, and I go to the bathroom to take a shower. I take a 15-minute shower and go downstairs to see Violet and my mom eating and talking. I walk over to the fridge and grab my pasta from yesterday's dinner at Olive Garden. Violet and my mom are also eating pasta and having the deepest conversation about safety. (It kind of concerned me). I devour my pasta and put the plates in the dishwasher. I run downstairs and get the cooler with all the food and drinks packed. I take it to the kitchen and place it by the fridge. Then I ran into my room to grab my suitcase and Violet's bag since she slept over she put her stuff in my room. I take our stuff downstairs, and I walk out the door. I set our bags on the ground and walked back inside to grab to the cooler. I opened to the truck with the keys and first placed the cooler down and set Violet's and my suitcase down right next to it. There is still enough room to put Skylar's things in there too. I go back inside and tell Violet to get ready. My mom puts her and Violet's dish away in the dishwasher. I grab some pillows and blankets.
"Okay, mom I'm going now," I said.
Okay, be safe, all of you. Don't do anything stupid." my mom says worriedly.
"We will don't worry I'll call you every day or when I have a chance," I said.
"Okay well have fun, and tell Skylar I said hi and not to get into any boy trouble." my mom says.
"Haha, I will, okay bye mom I love you and tell Clo I love her too," I say.
"Bye, love you too and I will," she says.
"Bye Mrs. Soma and thanks for letting me spend the night and everything." Violet says.
"You are always welcome here." my mom says.
"Okay well, we are off then, bye!" I shout before closing the door.
When we are outside, I walk to the truck and put the blankets and pillows inside, then I sit in the driver's seat and turn on the ignition. I put the car in drive and start to drive to Skylar's house. It ended up taking 15 minutes to drive to her house. I knocked on the door and her mom answers. She says hi to us and starts to shoo us inside. She tells us that she is just finishing her shower and will be out in a bit. So Violet and I go up to her room and wait there. I saw her suitcase, so I took it and opened it up. I looked to see if she forgot anything.
"I think she forgot to bring shampoo." Violet says after a moment.
"Otherwise, it looks dandy." I say.
After a few minutes, Skylar walks in and sees us there.
"It's about time!" She jokes.
"Looks who's talking, taking a half an hour shower." I say
"I was washing my hair, I can see you are looking through my things, did I forget anything?" Skylar asks.
"Yeah, shampoo." Violet says.
Skylar walks out of the room and comes back with shampoo.
"Anyhow did you eat, I don't want to spend money right away." I say.
"Psh yeah." she says.
"No, you didn't eat. Anyhow, I'm going to drive to Walmart and get some snacks." I say.
"I thought you told me you bought everything!" Skylar exclaims.
"Yeah but I need some sweets and chips." I say.
I walk downstairs to the front door, and the girls are right behind. I turn around to stop them.
"Okay I will be right back, Violet make sure Skylar eats." I say.
"Why can't we go!" They shout in unison.
"Well because if I leave Sky alone she won't eat plus I'll be quick." I say.
Before they can protest, I ran out the door and got into the car. I started to drive; it only took me about 10 minutes to go in and buy some snacks and turn back to the house. When I walk in I see Skylar eating and Violet on iFunny. When Skylar finishes, she washes the dish and turns around.
"Cool your back, you ready to go?" Skylar asks.
"Yeah, oh before I forget my Mom says hi and she told me to tell you not to get into any boy trouble." I say.
Skylar looks at me and starts to laugh.
"Okay fine, if I can't then I won't." Skylar says.
"By the way, her stuff is by the door," Violet say steering us back to our original topic. We go by the door while Skylar said goodbye to her parents and sisters. When she finishes, we walk outside. I put her suitcase in the trunk and go to the drivers seat. I turn on the car and turn to them.
"Seat belts on?" I ask.
"Yes, mom." They both said jokingly I smile.I turn back, and I start to drive.
Our journey starts now.
