“So, what do you think, Hattori?” The kid with glasses asked his dark-skinned friend. They both grinned at each other.
“I got it too. The culprit…” Heiji grinned as he watched the suspects stand in front of them—with tensed and anxious pale faces—and the victim—bloody and lifeless with a knife on his back.
“…is definitely among us.” They both said with almost unification.
The witted boy quickly grabbed his tranquilizer watch and shot his “victim”. It is nonetheless the famous “Sleeping Kogoro” that had awakened—rather slept. He made a “funya~~!!” sound and fainted in the next chair.
“It… It came!”
“It’s here!”
“The Sleeping Kogoro!!”
Everybody gasped from excitement as they are about to witness yet once again “his” greatness.
“Why don’t we, end this charade?” He grunted with his disguised voice. Heiji stepped beside the chair hiding his little friend with his leg. He grinned as “Kogoro Mouri” stopped every once in a while to let him speak his own deductions.
“You did it, dad!” A girl with light brown hair and hazelnut eyes shrieked with joy and pride.
“Of course! I am the greatest Kogoro Mouri, after all! Nyahahaha!!” He beamed with confidence (and stupidity) as his laughter boomed through the whole restaurant. And yet again, he had no idea on how he did it.
The customers are now looking towards their table and where whispering, murmuring and chatting to each other. Now everybody knows that he is here.
“So much for laying low, Uncle. Ha-ha…” Conan thought to himself.
After “his” deduction show, Kogoro Mouri and the others were invited to have dinner at a fine restaurant owned by his client who happened to be a suspect at the murder crime. Because he proved the owner’s innocence, he was given the pleasure of fine dining.
“It’s really such a pleasure seeing the great “Kogoro Mouri” again! He’s much better than Heiji!” The girl with the ponytail chorused with her friend. They both giggled.
“Hahaha!! Stop it! You’re making me blush!!” Kogoro laughed all red from three wine bottles that he drank.
“He is not!” Heiji banged his fork into the table. He is the “Great detective of the West” for everybody, Hattori Heiji. He’s Shinichi Kudo’s arch rival but end up helping him keep his secret, having Kogoro Mouri being great over him means that Kudo is greater than him since he’s the one behind Kogoro Mouri’s deduction acts all this time.
“Why not?!” His childhood friend, Kazuha, asked. She knitted her eyebrows and waited for an explanation.
“Because Kudo…!!” Heiji began to blabber uncontrollably. That’s what happen when his temper out of control. It gets the best of him.
“Kudo?” Ran repeated Heiji’s word. “What about Shinichi?! Did you happen to meet him?!” She leaned forward Heiji with expecting eyes. Hoping that she could hear some great news about Shinichi. If he’s coming home or not. At all.
“Idiot!” The little kid with the glasses that they are with, almost cough up all of the juice that he’s drinking.
“Urk…” He stopped into his words. He can’t say that it was actually Kudo (Conan)’s brain that is helping Kogoro to think. “Nothing.” He said in a small voice.
“Hmn…” Ran didn’t take away his vision towards Heiji. It has been very obvious that he’s saying Kudo all this time. Now she wanted to know that truth.
