“Here you go,” Hakase said as he handed them the report and researches he had obtained for the last month. “It seems that there are no suspicious things that’s happening, Shinichi.” He reported as he sat in the couch, facing them.

Conan and Heiji scanned the thick band of written reports. Nothing seemed to be so suspicious. Then, they both seemed to be deep in thought, creases in their foreheads were eminent.

“Ai-kun told me about Noemi in your house, Shinichi,” He began.

“Yeah,” He answered absent-mindedly.

“I haven’t seen her for almost a decade now! No wonder I can’t recognize her.” He laughed at his own forgetfulness. No one seem to be listening to him so he decided to concentrate on his hot coffee.

“You shouldn’t let her in there, Kudo.” Ai’s cold voice began. “I don’t know why and I haven’t see her but I can feel the Black Org’s member’s presence to her. She’s bad news...” Fear can be traced from her voice as she trailed off.

“What are you talking about, Haibara?” Conan stopped shuffling the papers as he sorted them out.

Heiji stopped too and stared at the little girl’s frightened look.

“She’s his cousin, there’s no helping it.” Heiji informed her.

She stared at them for a few seconds and rummaged at her pocket. She quietly laid out a familiar white and red capsule in her small hands.

“Change back to Shinichi Kudo and let her leave.” Her voice was powerful and she sounded so demanding.

Conan quickly stood he was shocked, he never thought that Ai would let him drink one now. She must be really desperate.

“Why?” He uttered. His blue eyes wide with amazement.

“Please, Kudo,” She sounded like crying. She cleared her throat and continued, “I don’t want her near… near…” She gulped loudly and looked at the floor. “I don’t want her near Ran.” She looked into Conan’s eyes so that he could impart him what she really meant. “Or Kazuha.” She shifted her vision now to the Osaka detective who’s mouth is slightly opened from shock—her mentioning their names must have been a real surprise.

“Ai-kun…” The Professor was the first to spoke.

“She might be a member of the Black Org for all we know. What would you do if that happens?! You’re still a kid, Kudo! I’m still a kid! And you too, Hattori! We are all nothing against their powers!” She screamed, hot tears swelled from her violet eyes filled with mixed emotions of anger, defeat and fear. She slumped down and clenched the little capsule to her small fist. “You know we can’t stop them, Kudo. Stop being so positive all the time. It sickens me.”

“Haibara, you…” Conan can’t move. All of them startled to what happened.

Apparently Ai Haibara—the Coldest girl in the world—snapped unexpectedly.

“Well, I can’t do that, really.” He scratched the back of his head, apologizing. “She’s a family and it’s rude to kick her out of my house and then be gone the next hour.”

“Besides, she already knew. Pretty much about everything. I didn’t tell her about you though. I think you better be keeping your secrets, right?” Ai lifted her head in a quick jerk.

Heiji was beside Conan now. He felt sympathy for the girl who’s crying in front of them.

“We’ll make sure she doesn’t come close to you, ok? But we can’t promise with Ran or Kazuha. They’re pretty close now.”

She nodded silently. Admitting her defeat. She rose up and walked towards her lab. Her head still bowing low. She stopped in front of the kitchen table and reach high up. She placed the antidote in it.

“In case you came back to reality and changed your mind, Kudo.” She said in a flat voice.

“You know that won’t happen,” He called out.

“Yeah. Right.” She said while closing the door of the basement behind her. Then, there was silence.

Heiji felt a light tap on his shoulder.

“I’ll talk to her. She’s just upset.” Professor walked towards the kitchen table and handed the drug to Conan. He smiled, “This won’t hurt, right?” Conan nodded and put the drug into his pocket silently.

There was a light tug in his jacket.

“We won’t finish if we would just stare into nothing. Let’s get back to work.”

“Ah… Right.” There were many things began to ponder inside his head but he heed no attention to them. He was busier investigating about the Black Org.

“Noemi is a different story,” He said as he spaced out. “I have more things to think off. Haibara must’ve felt territorial, that’s all.”
