It was almost lunch but still two people were restless. They have been searching for clues of the mysterious letter sent to Shinchi Kudo.
“We already figured out who sent it, Kudo. Don’t you really remember someone called Nami?” Heiji asked the kid with the glasses as he wiped a sweat under his chin. It was so hot that day.
“Nah. I can’t remember someone with this name.” The kid answered fanning the letter to ease the heat he’s feeling.
It’s been half a day since they decided to look for the sender of the letter but it was still hopeless. They have gone through every part of Tokyo. From the post office to the hospitals and police posts hoping that they may have something that could help them find “Nami”.
“It’s so suspicious too, Kudo.” Heiji said as he opened a can of soda and handed it to Conan.
“Yeah. There’s only this envelope and there’s actually nothing inside.” He agreed with his friend as he helped himself with the cold soda.
“Ahh… We better go. Catch, Kudo!” He tossed the helmet to his young friend and mounted his bike. “Kazuha and Ran might be waiting for us now.” He grinned and started the vehicle’s roaring engine.
“Yeah.” The little kid nodded and held tight as they drove into the busy streets of Tokyo.
“Ah… You’re here.” A blonde girl said as she folded the daily newspaper. She was alone sitting in the swivel chair of the famous Kogoro Mouri.
“What are you doing here, Haibara?” Conan asked. Amazed by the presence of his cold friend.
“Your girlfriends requested for me.” She said coldly and grinned. “I was practically busy today. But I can’t say no to her.”
“Idiot. Don’t say that casually.” Conan said while blushing. Heiji on the other hand stopped himself from shouting at the little girl.
“She told me that she can’t contact any of you because you will surely be mad so she asked me to tell you that they are meeting someone so you can order lunch at Poirot.” Ai said as she sipped her cup of tea.
“They’re meeting who?”
“I don’t know.” She said calmly. “I think you should go.” She turned to Conan. Her eyes were telling him that something’s amiss. “I heard about a letter too that was sent to you, Kudo.”
“Ah… Yeah. This one.” Conan said as he pulled out the letter from his pocket.
“Na… Mi…” She read the back of the letter. “Any luck?” Ai asked as she began examining the inside of the empty envelope.
“So far, none.” Heiji answered. “But we did try every place we could think off.”
“Ah… I see. Well then, I’m off. I already finished what I have to say here.” She walked slowly towards the door. “And one more thing…” She stopped on her tracks. “There’s a strange girl that’s been coming back in your house, Kudo.”
“A girl?”
“Yeah. She said she was your cousin but the Professor said that he hasn’t seen her before.”
“What did the Professor do?!” Conan reluctantly asked. It’s been very dangerous these past few weeks for him to move because the Black Org is starting to doubt his existence.
“I don’t know.” She shrugged. “Be careful, Kudo.” Ai’s voice was commanding rather than advising.
“Yeah. I know.”
“Oi… What now, Kudo?” Heiji’s composure was different than before. He had this serious look on his face. Conan, on the other hand, was thinking very deeply. Sunk in his deductive world. Connecting things with his brilliant mind.
