Chapter 3.

        I spent Tuesday evening with my brother. My grandmother had a few things to do so he came over for the night. We just went to dinner and talked about what was going on in his life. I was so happy to see him. 

Now, it's Friday and I'm ready for the weekend. 

Chris and I have been talking a lot although he still makes me extremely nervous. I've also improved with my communication with others. It's like I became a whole new person and I love it. 

I looked over at Melodie and Harmony. They were both sitting on a bench, on their phones.

"Excuse me?" I heard a voice behind me. I slowly turned around and found a girl with straight blonde hair, and brown eyes wearing jeans and a purple shirt and some super cute heels.

"Hi?"

"Can you help me find this class?" she pointed to a map and I looked at it.

"Ohh, yeah. I'm going there now; do you want to walk with me?" I asked, she looked relieved.

"Yes, thank you, my name is Alicia" she said holding out her hand.

"You’re welcome. My name is Shaylene. You can call me Shay, and they are" I gestured to the twins "Melodie and Harmony."

They both looked up at the same time and smiled.

"Hey. Who are you?" Melodie asked.

"I’m Alicia." she said quietly. Harmony bounced up off of her seat.

"Well Alicia, you have come to the right place. You can hang with us, but don’t be shy and you'll be fine." she said smiling evilly at me. I scowled playfully and we all started walking to class.

"Melodie. I love your name!" Alicia said a bit louder.

"SEE THERE YOU GO! DON'T BE SHY! LIVE LOUD!" screamed Harmony who turned down the hallway.

"That was interesting." Alicia said with a laugh. Melodie and I joined her.

We all entered the classroom. I greeted a couple of people, and Alicia was looking around the class.

"Okay! We have a new student!" I yelled and everyone looked at Alicia, she blushed and waved.

"Yeah! Don’t mess with her or I'll mess you up!" Melodie yelled behind me. I turned and saw she was standing on a chair. I shook my head while laughing a little. 

"Anyways, her name is Alicia. Say hi and get to know her, she's cool!" We sat down and everyone did the same except Alicia who stood by the teacher’s desk waiting for him to give her a seat and I couldn’t help but notice she kept looking at Chris.

"PARTNER UP AND GIVE A ONE AND A HALF PAGE RESPONSE TO THE READING ON PAGES TWENTY FIVE THROUGH THIRTY FIVE" yelled Mr. Watkins

I looked up and saw Chris smiling at me. I smiled back, my heart beating a bit faster. He nodded towards our usual spot. 

"Hey, are ready to do this?" he asked as I approached him. I smiled, getting butterflies in my stomach. No matter how close we had gotten, just being around him made my whole body tingle, my stomach feel light, and it's only around him that does that to me.

"Yep." I said as I sat down. I looked over at Alicia, who was working with some girl named Rina. She was staring at us with a look of disgust on her face.

"Shaylene," Chris said drawing me back to reality. "What are you doing this weekend?"

"I honestly have no clue. Maybe just drive around aimlessly" I smiled and he laughed a little. He ran his fingers through his dark, curly hair; I could tell he was nervous.
