Chapter Two- Deer Hunting

"Ava! Over here!" I heard from behind Rick was calling to me with his arm around the women and a hand on his sons shoulder. I walked over with a smile. "Thank you for bringing my dad to us." The small boy saying while coming over to me to give me a hug I lean down and wrapped my arms around him. "Hey it's no problem. Your dad is a strong great person. And I'll tell you what. You are going to be just like him." I told him smiling. He looked at me with his childish grin then back at his parents before walking back to them.

I stood up and turn around before feeling two hands grab me, I saw Andrea taking me towards a younger blonde girl. "Ava. This is Amy, my sister." She said before letting my arm go and having the most biggest smile I haven seen on someone since the world went to shit. "Thank you. For everything you did for them out there." Amy said wrapping her arms around my neck I couldn't help but hug her back with a smile. "It was really no problem." I told her as she went back to Andrea's side.

I walked around the camp to meet everyone, the only one I haven't met formally was Shane, he was standing off just looking at Rick and his family. Lori glanced at him a couple times, more like a glare. I walked over to him. "Hey I'm Avalana, Ava for short." I told him holding out my hand. He looked down towards me then my hand then back in my eyes before taking my hand. "I'm Shane. Ricks police partner before the world went to shit." Something about him didn't sit well with me I couldn't put my finger on it yet I'm going to have to keep an eye on him.

I gave him a smile before taking my hand back. "So what's your story?" He asked crossing his arms in front of him. I smirked at him. "Well, I'm twenty- five lived in Georgia for two years I use to live in Ohio. That's about it." I lied straight to his face. There was no way I was going to open up and tell him my real story..

Before he could ask any more questions Dale came up to us. "You haven't met everyone yet dear." I wrapped my arm around his. "See ya around Shane." I said over my shoulder. Dale was a sweet old man, he reminded me of my grandfather. We walked up to a middle aged man. "This is Jim." He nodded at me. "I'm Ava. Nice to meet you." I told him shaking his hand.

Me and Dale walked over to two lawn chairs I had met everyone except for a women with very short hair, a young girl, and a larger man. I tilted my head trying to read them better. "I'm going to go meet them." I told Dale standing up. "Okay, just be careful. Ed doesn't take kind to strangers.." He told me.

I went over to their part of the camp I decided to go to the women first. "Hi. I'm Ava." I smiled holding out my hand. She looked at me and shook my hand her smile was broken. "Hi I'm Carol, this is Sophia my daughter,and this my husband Ed." She introduce everyone to me. I bent down to Sophia's height "hi it's really nice to meet you. You're very pretty." I told her with a smile, she gave me a smile "thank you." I looked up at Carol who's eyes had light in them when she was looking at her daughter. "Who's this?" I heard a harsh tone from behind Carol making her jump. "This is Ava. She is new she help bring everyone back." Carol inform him with her head held down as he approached us. He placed his very large hand on Sophia's small frail shoulder I knew I already didn't like him. "Well it's so nice to meet you all!" I told them giving them a smile. Carol pulled me into a hug. "I'm so glad to have you here!" She said in the hug. "I'll see you guys around." I told them as Carol pulled away from me.

I sat back down in the lawn chair Dale must have went back to the RV. I laid my head back and closed my eyes, I almost drifted to sleep but I heard Jacque talking to Shane, Amy, Andrea, and Rick. I sat up and open my eyes and stood up. "Who's Daryl?" I asked them curious. They all looked at each other then back at me. "He is Merle's younger brother. We um.. Left him in Atlanta.." Andrea said I looked at them shock that's what T- Dog was saying when he said he dropped the key.

"We could always lie." Amy said speaking up. Shane shook his head, "no it's family. He has a right to know." He said letting out a sigh. "I'll tell him. I'm the one who cuffed him up there." Rick said I looked at him so confused. What kind of group was I with? "I should tell him. I was the one who dropped the key." T- Dog stepped in. All eyes fell on him. "No offense T- Dog, but you are probably the last person Daryl wants to see." Rick said looking at T-Dog. T-Dog lowered his head I could tell he felt bad, I rubbed his back and tried to give him a reassuring smile.
