It's been five days since I told the group what happened at CDC and between me and Daryl, Daryl was now in our tent on his cot, and Carl was up walking around. I was helping Carl and Lori feed some baby chicks by the chicken coop. "They don't have a mother." Carl said throwing some more grain on the ground. "She might be somewhere else." Lori said watching her son as he fed.
"Maybe she got eaten." I looked at Carl then at Lori. "Everything is food for something else." He finished his thought then turned back to look at us. I didn't know what to say since he was right.

After we were done feeding the chicks I went back to camp to see if there was anything else I could help with. I walked past Carol as she was hanging some laundry up on a wire. "Hey Dale!" I said smiling at him. "Hey honey." He said returning the smile. I sat down next to him looking around.

I saw Glenn and Maggie having a conversation that Glenn looked uncomfortable in. He soon came over towards us holding a basket. "Here guys here's some peaches." He said handing us the basket then walking away which was very unlike him. "Um thanks." I said watching him leave. "That was out of character for him." I added looking over at Dale. "Yeah just a little bit." He said biting into a peach. I grabbed three and headed off I gave one to Carl and then headed to mine and Daryl's tent.

We haven't talked about the night in the room at all really and I don't know what to think about that. I mean of course I have feelings for him and all but I don't take him being the feeling type of guy.

As I was approaching the tent I saw Andrea leaving the tent. "Hey Ava." She said giving me a small smile. We haven't talked really at all. "Look I just want to apologize to you again. I swear I didn't mean to shoot him." I gave her a smile. "Hey it's okay I was just shocked and all my feelings were coming at me all at once. Here have a peach." I gave her a hug. "But hey, shoot me again, and you'd best pray I'm dead." We heard behind us I saw Daryl laying there with an arrow and book on his chest with one leg propped up. Andrea nodded with a smile at him and walked off.

I went into the tent giving him a half smile before tossing him his peach. "Here." I said sitting down on my sleeping bag. "Thanks." He said biting into it. We sat there in silence the only noise was him biting into peach I wanted to so badly talk to him but didn't want him to shut me out again.

"Here." He said holding a piece of the peach out to me. "No you need to eat. Build your strength up." I told him shaking my head. "My strength is fine. Take the damn slice Ava." I looked over at him letting out a sigh as I scooted closer to his cot. "Thank you." I said taking the slice of peach. He just nodded his head and started eating his half.

"So are we not going to talk about if?" I asked not really sure how to even ask that question. "Talk about what?" He asked not looking at me. I looked over at him trying to read his face but nothing. "What happen a few days ago? In the bedroom? The kiss?" I said as I kept looking at him waiting for something from him but he just kept eating his peach. "It was nothi'n Ava. Heat of the moment type shit." He wouldn't look at me still it hurt me more I think because he couldn't look at me and tell me that.

I shook my head in disbelief. "Yeah whatever Daryl." I looked out in the tent. "What now it's gonna be weird between us? Damn grow up." I snapped finally looking at me. I narrowed my eyes at him. "No Daryl it's not going to be weird I can promise you that." I snapped back. I grabbed my backpack and placed it over my shoulder. "Where are you goi'n?" I heard him yell from the tent. "None of your business." I yelled over my shoulder walking towards the huge farm house.

I saw Maggie in the kitchen cutting some vegetables. "Hey Mags.. Can I crash with you?" I asked sitting my bag down. She looked over at me with a half smile and nodded her head. "Trouble in paradise with you too?" She asked I grabbed a knife and helped her cut. "Yeah. Apparently it was just a heat of the moment type shit." I quoted rolling my eyes. She let out a smile. "Yeah guys don't know nothing."
