"Man this stinks" Glenn said as Andrea rubbed walker blood over his white lab coat I gave him to protect his clothing and skin. I stood there trying not take in too much of the smell. After we were covering in walker blood Andrea and Morales opened the doors for us to go out there and disguise ourselves as one of them. It was the only way to get to a vehicle and get out of the city.
"Good luck." Andrea whispered to me I looked down at her with a reassuring smile before me and Glenn headed out there. I held an ax in my hand just in case something happen and he had a baseball bat. I was making sure we had somewhat of a limp just like they did that way they didn't see anything out of the normal.
We were making good time and everything was going according to plan. I looked over to Glenn who you could tell wanted to run, poor kid couldn't be any older then twenty- one. I looked in front of us again then that's when I felt it. A rain drop. "Rick it's raining." Glenn whispered over to me. I looked over to see a walker walking beside me I didn't know if he could smell us or not. That was till it started to actually rain. "RUN!" I shouted to Glenn as we started swinging our weapons and ran around the corner trying to stay alive.
We turned right and saw a chain linked fence. The walkers were right behind us. "Come on!" A young women called from over the gate shooting some of the walkers that were coming after me and Glenn. We quickly climb the gate and headed for the white delivering truck she was standing by we quickly got in as she jump in the drivers seat.
"Who are you?" I asked her shakily. She let out a laugh. "Well I'm the girl that just saved your ass." She said with a smirk. I looked at her in awe. Then back at Glenn who didn't care who she was he just cared he wasn't walker food. "We have some people on the-" "roof. Yeah I know. I've been watching you guys." She said heading towards a car lot. "Why?" I asked curious. "Because I wanted to see how long you guys would last." She said looking towards us. She stopped the van Glenn and I got out I busted the driver side window to a red mustang and told him to get the walkers attention and start driving the opposite way of the building. He did as told then me and whoever she was headed towards the building where we left the others.
We stopped in the ally where I told the group to meet me they quickly hurried into the back of the truck. "Where's T- Dog?" I asked Morales. "He was right behind me. I don't know man." He said out of breathe sitting in the floor of the truck. "Well he better hurry or we have to leave his ass." The girl said sitting in the drivers seat, sure enough here came a very sweaty T- Dog. Andrea shut the door and locked it as soon as she got it locked the girl took off. "I dropped the key down the drain." I heard T-Dog say leaning behind my seat. I looked at Andrea and Jacques faces then back at the girl who just kept driving. We left a man up there for nothing to defend himself with.
"Where am I going?" The girl said bringing me out of my train of thought. "Andrea?" I motioned toward her to give her direction. She gave her the way to their camp then sat back down Glenn came racing past us. "At least one of us is having a good day." She said with a half smile.
-Ava's POV-
I was driving the white truck to these peoples camp. How in the hell did I get myself in This one? I questioned myself. I looked over at the guy in the passenger seat he had on sheriff outfit and looked worn out. "Ava." I said to him. I brought him out of his thoughts I could tell by the way he seem startle by my voice. "What?" He questioned. "I'm Ava. Actually Avalana but Ava for short." I told him. "I'm Rick, this is Andrea, T-Dog, Morales, Jacque, and Glenn is the red mustang." He introduced himself and everyone. We rode in silent the rest of the trip.
After what seem like forever we finally made it to the dirt road they told me to turn on. Ten or fifteen minutes up the hill I saw the red mustang we must be home. I turned off the truck and sat in the seat for a little bit everyone quickly opened the back of the truck and jumped out going to their families. "Come meet everyone guys." Morales said before leaving us to rush to his family. I looked over at Rick who's blue eyes seem sad that's when I knew he was lost too with no family, I gave him a reassuring smile and got out of the truck and so did Rick.
I watched as Andrea ran over to a younger girl and wrap her arm around who must have been her sister, and Morales kiss a petite Hispanic women on the forehead before leaning down to kiss two young children. I started walking closer to the group that's when I heard a very young boys voice. "DAD?" I saw the boy run towards my way I quickly move to the side and looked at Rick and saw his blue eyes light up and fill with tears. This was his family. They were safe.
He picked up the small boy who had to be no older then ten and then a tall small brunette joined them in the reunion. I watched as the family held to one another tightly and shared kisses. "Who is this?" I heard someone ask behind me. I turned around to see an older man in a fishermen's hat and another guy in an officers uniform similar to Ricks. "This is Ava. She saved mine and Ricks lives." Glenn said informing the group. I gave them a small smile and wave. "Well welcome to the group." The older man said with a welcoming smile.
This should be fun. I thought to myself.
