When I woke, I was in a dark room. I couldn't tell where I was, only that there was a limited light. I was strapped to a wall with iron chains on my arms and legs, suspending me in the air. It was weird, wherever the iron touched my skin, it burnt like crazy and seared my skin.
"I enchanted that iron. It will slowly sap away your powers and life force until you're a shriveled piece of skin," Brad commented, stepping into the light. I didn't notice, but he was lurking in a corner of the room. His voice was not normal. It was raspier and deeper than usual. I tried to speak, but my jaw was knocked out of alignment, so I couldn't speak.
"What happened to you Brad? This isn't you. Snap out of it," Brad said, imitating my voice and making weird gestures with his hands. He must have guessed from my expressions and head gestures what I was thinking. He started to laugh.
"You really make me laugh. You think I am usually a nice guy huh? Well wake up! I'm a wizard, an evil one at that, and I'm going to take your powers for myself!" He laughed and walked out of the only door in the room. I saw the hallway that it led to, and it was pitch black. I looked up at the shackles around my wrists, and I wondered if I could use my powers to break free of them.
"Oh, by the way, those shackles are anti magic. You won't be able to break free," Brad notified me while popping just his head in the door then waved and closed the door behind him.
What seemed like an hour passed, and I could feel my strength being drained away from body. I tried to escape again, wiggling around in hopes of anything. I shake and wiggle and I notice that one of the big bolts on my right hand was starting to get loose. I squirm around and manage to get the screw half way out of the pocket. Brad then came into the room with a wrench laughing.
"I'm not going to let a simple bolt ruin my plans," He then walked up and tightened the bolt.
"All better now, enjoy becoming a shriveled corpse!" Then he skipped out of the room.More time passed with no way out of the chains. I was under constant pain on my wrists and ankles from the iron. I started to believe that I was going to die here without even getting to do anything I ever truly wanted to try. I was just giving up when I saw faces in my mind. Due to my new power it was extremely vivid. I saw my mother's face encouraging me.
"Just be safe okay?" The last words she said to me.
"I guess we'll be seeing more of you then?" Those were the jocks, and they welcomed me... sort of.
"Oh okay see you later then!" Those words Marie told me when I told her I couldn't hang out with her one night. I couldn't give up! I had to make it back for them, my family and friends. Brad may have told me that the chains were anti magic, but I didn't get discouraged. I got a burst of energy from my encouragement. I imagined the chains became molten iron, and melted away down onto the floor. I willed it with all of might, I started to groan, which would be a yell if my jaw was fine. Wait, I thought. I am a healing witch, I can fix myself after I'm free. I focused on the chains again, and I could see one ring start melt, drop by drop the chains were melting. The chains snapped and dropped me to the ground. I caught my breath, rubbing my wrists and ankles. I healed them as well as I fixed my jaw with a blue light and I could feel my bones moving back to their original spot and mended the crack.
"Man, it's nice to be able to talk again," I said to myself. I got up and stretched my wings.
"I'm going to need something to fight Brad with." I remembered when I was little and I took fencing and sword fighting. I decided to take a twist on it. I imagined the melted iron forming into a blade, then a leather strap wrapping around the hilt making a handle. I fashioned myself two iron samurai swords. I also made a chainmail to put overtop of myself so that Brad couldn't hurt me easily. I would fight back this time.
