When I got home Luke and two of his fellow officers were waiting inside for me looking worried. I immediately began to panic.

"What's wrong?" I asked shakily.

"I received the photo of Karlie from the hospital today.." Luke said.

"Okay... And??"

"There's a note from Gabriel written on the back."

"Are you sure?" I asked feeling light headed and sitting down. "Can I see it?"

Luke stood up slowly, walked over and sat down next to me.

"We have officers on their way to the home where Karlie lives." Luke said handing the photo to me.

I turned it over and read the back slowly.

To: My Kenzie
Our little girl is beautiful.
I've enjoyed seeng her photos
throughout the last 5 years.
I can't wait to meet her.
         - Gabriel
PS: you didn't really think you
had heard the last from me
did you?

"How did he find out?" I asked tears rolling down my face. What about Braxton does he know about him too?"

"We don't know yet, but we're working on it" one of the officers answered. "We we're able to find the adoptive parents of both your children and contacted their local police department immediately."

"Are they safe? Did they make it there in time?"

"We haven't heard back yet, but I'm sure everything is ok."

"Why would he wait exactly 5 years since they were born?" I asked, mostly talking to myself.

"We'll find him." Luke said. "In order to take her or you or anyone, he'll have to come out of hiding and when he does we'll be ready."

I looked over at him and burst into tears. Luke wrapped his arms around me and held me tight until I was able to stop crying.

"What are we going to do?" I asked wiping away my tears.

"You're going to stay here" Luke said. "Two officers will be with you at all times. We will go back to work and follow any leads we can find.

"I have to help, even with how little I know about him I still know more than any of you."

"Emma, please just stay here." Luke said with pleading eyes.

"I can't do that Luke, you know that, I can't just sit here and do nothing."

"Ok." Luke agreed "but only today, after that I need you to leave it up to the detectives on the case. Ok?"

I hesitated but agreed, knowing that was the best I was going to get.

"Ok, let's go then." Luke said standing taking my hand.

We followed the two officers out the door and followed them to the precinct.
