Chapter 5

I woke tied and gagged in the the back of a small car.

"Yes Gabe, once she got the mail everything went as planned. We'll be there soon." Blake said.

Great so not only is Gabriel back but so is Blake and not only that they're working together. I had to get out of here.

"Don't even think about it." Blake said "don't you want to meet your daughter? Plus who know what Gabriel will do to her if you make things difficult."

Being married to a detective I knew I should try to escape and get help but I also knew that what Blake said was 100% true, Gabriel  doesn't care who gets hurt as long as he gets what he wants. So I sat there frozen in place hoping Luke knew I was gone and would find us sooner rather than later.

"Luke!" Detective Fields yelled as she ran through the doors of my office "Emma's gone."

"How did this happen?" Luke asked grabbing the keys to his car.

"The officers stationed outside her house were both unconscious when I arrived. I found a letter on the floor it's being analyzed right now, it was laced with something,
We're just not sure what. Your door was knocked down and dinner was still in the oven."

"What did the letter say?"

"I took a picture of it, see for yourself" Alison said handing her phone to Luke.

Hello My Kenzie,
By now I'm sure you have heard
About our daughter. I'm sorry to worry
you, I can't wait for us to all be together.
Do not try to go to the police. I will kill
anyone who gets in the way. By the way,
are you beginning to feel lightheaded or sleepy? By now you have inhaled enough
that even if you tried they would not make it here in time. See you soon my love.

"Seriously?! What does this guy want with her? It's been 5 years." Luke said angrily jumping into his car.

"She was the one that got away" Alison said climbing in beside him.

"You don't need to come with me Alison."

"Yes I do, we we're supposed to protect her and we didn't, plus you need someone to keep your head on straight."

Luke hesitated for a moment but decided she was right and begun the drive to his home determined to find some clue as to where Emma might have been taken.

We pulled to a stop outside of a beautiful house, nothing out of the ordinary and everything was well taken care of. Blake climbed out of the drivers seat opened the back door and pulled me out by the ropes tied around my hands.

"Scream and your little girl dies" he threatened quietly in my ear.

Taking the gag out of my mouth and cutting the ropes loose Blake pushed me forward just as an elderly woman stepped right in front of us.
