Chapter 5

I'm running, through a building. The world is shaking. Everything in slow motion, it was so new to me yet so familiar at the same time. Something is behind me. Something big. I hear the screams of the people in the building. They were screams of pure terror, I keep running, I get to the end of the hallway. Stopping, I realized that the world wasn't shaking, the building was toppling! I ran to my left and got to a glass window. I stopped, not believing what I was seeing.

It was a woman. She had long brown hair that was neatly slung over her shoulders. She looked pretty normal besides the fact that she had massive, brown, bird wings. They kept flapping, keeping her up in the air. She was screaming out to me. She wanted me to jump into her arms and be safe. I still couldn't fathom what was right in front of me. To my left I saw Andy but he looked just as scary. His arm well, let's just say his arm was too long. It was dragging on the floor about 5 feet behind him and even though he was running. The length of his arms kept decreasing until his knuckles scraped the ground like a chimp. His arms got back to normal length with a sharp CRACK! He was screaming about Anna, something about leaving her behind.

   "Riley."  A familiar voice said.

I looked around for who said it but there was no one there but Andy. He was still running towards me but in slow motion. There was no one. I dropped to my knees screaming like a child. What was happening to me? Andy finally caught up to me, with his arms extended he jumped out of the window to her, he may know what was going on but I was faster. I felt bad about being so selfish to him, even though I had no idea what was going on. I ducked under him, jumping into her arms before he could. She caught me and I clung to her like a baby. Everything sped up and then as if it were the apocalypse, the building crumbled until it was a pile of brick and concrete on the ground. The only thing recognizable was the lime green Davecorp sign buried beneath the rubble.

"Riley!" The voice said again. Except that I was in my moms car, and the voice was Brianna.

"Good you're awake, we're at the tutor place, Mom's inside. But she's weary about sending us to 'school' so soon after the incident" She said looking at the building.

The building was average size, it was two story, and it was made out of glass like a skyscraper but on the top there was a huge sign that read in big, fat letters: JOSHIE TRAINING ROCKS!  and it had a little kid holding a thumbs up. 'Great.' I thought to myself. 'It's kindergarten all over again.'

"Bro, you okay? You were shaking in your sleep. You also said something about Andy, wings, and Davecorp?" Brianna said to me.

   "I'm um fine." I said.

   We walked in together and saw mom at a desk signing us in. There was a big hallway to all sides of me and each one led to a door. The numbers on each door were 121, 240, 623, and 324. I glanced at the paper mom was writing on. It was a chart with 2 columns: Student Name and Parent Signature. Just naming a few of the names I saw were Eli, Andy, Kevin, Antonio, Jamie, Anna, Taylor, and Kona. I honestly didn't know a lot of the kids on the list. Mom set the pen down and a man came out of room 623. He was wearing an orange shirt, with khakis and a gray jacket. He pushed his glasses up his skinny nose and said;

"Riley and Brianna I presume?" He said, even though he clearly knew.

"Yes sir!" Mom said with fake enthusiasm.

"Alrighty, Brianna you will be in room 121 and Riley, you'll be with me in room 623." He said, walking away, expecting me to follow.

Brianna went down the other hallway while I followed string bean down the longest hallway.

"You can call me Rohan you know." He said glancing back at me.

I didn't respond. I hoped it was just coincidence that he knew I'd called him string bean and hopefully I didn't say it out loud.

"You didn't, no reason to worry." He said to me, with humor in his tone.

"Okay what is-" I was cut off when I realized what room 623 was, and where we were.

A bathroom. Rohan just looked at me and I could see that he was enjoying himself.

"Hope you like having your picture taken!" He said smiling at me like a freak.

Before I had time to insult him or say something mean, I saw a bright flash, and my feet lifted off of the ground.

Note: I finally updated, yay! To any Rileys, Rishabhs, Jamies, Noelles, or Briannas reading this, I hope it made up for my horrible chapter 4 😑. Also, to any of the people (Riley and Eli) who asked me multiple times to upload the "deleted chapter" it will not happen. Anyways hope you like it!
