Chapter 4

Jade's POV

Despite the fact that Jesy's encouragement made me feel a lot better, I suddenly started to feel nervous as we arrived at Leigh-Anne's house for her sleepover. I know Jesy said she'd help me, but what if it wasn't enough? She couldn't be with me all the time.

Leigh-Anne told us that her parents were away so we could do pretty much whatever we wanted.

"We're not having your idea of fun!" Jesy joked.

"I have no idea what you mean" Leigh said, batting her eyelashes innocently. We all rolled our eyes at her, knowing that if Leigh-Anne had her way we would all end up completely wasted. I'd never seen drunk Leigh-Anne but Perrie and Jesy had told me enough stories about her.

Perrie's POV

I was happy to be having a sleepover with my three best friends of course, but I was also worried about Jade. She seemed so worried about something earlier. I could see right through her and Jesy's little "going to the bathroom" act earlier. What had she told her? She did seem happier when she came back, so telling Jesy probably helped her. Since her and Jesy came back to class she'd been fine all day until about 10 minutes ago. God I wish this girl wasn't so confusing!

The evening went pretty well. We didn't do much, just sat around and gossiped. Then Leigh-Anne had an idea.

"Ok guys, so I was thinking we should play truth or dare, but we've played that so many times that we're starting to run out of ideas, so instead I thought we should take it in turns to rate each member of our group, including the guys, out of 10 for looks and personality, and say our honest opinion on them" she told us. Sure, why not? I thought. Then I remembered. That meant Jade would have to say how she felt about Niall. I knew she liked him, but could I handle actually hearing her say it? Everyone agreed to play the game, so we sat on the floor in a circle.

"Ok, let's start with the guys then rate eachother. Jesy, you first" Leigh said, looking at her. "Let's start with... Liam".

"Ok, I'll give Liam 8/10 for looks... let's face it, he's gorgeous! Those abs!" She giggled. We all laughed, and me and Leigh nodded in agreement. Zayn would agree, I thought, laughing to myself.

Jesy gave Liam a 10/10 for personality and said that he was her best guy friend and she always trusted him and felt safe around him. I was happy because they would be cute, but at the same time I hoped they wouldn't get together because I knew what it would do to Zayn.

Leigh-Anne rated all the guys too, then it was my turn. I started with Harry, then Leigh asked me about Niall, then Liam, then Louis. I gave my honest opinions on them all.

Then she said "Ok Perrie, I saved the best till last! For looks, what would you give out of 10 to..."

"ZAYN MALIK!" Jesy said in her Australian accent.

"9" I said truthfully, and Leigh and Jesy both cooed, teasing me. Jade had been weirdly quiet for a while now.

"What about personality?" Leigh-Anne asked.

"10" I said, also truthfully.

"And what's your opinion on Mr Malik?" Leigh asked, raising her eyebrows and staring at me as if it was an interrogation.

"I love Zayn. He's my best friend other than you guys, and I'd trust him with my life".

"Awwww, Perrie LOVES him!" Jesy said teasingly.

"Before I was so rudely interrupted, I was going to say, I love Zayn BUT not like tha-" I started to say, but I was interrupted again.

"Oh give up Pez, we all know you and Zayn are together! It's obvious! Why won't you just admit it?" Leigh-Anne said.

"Because it's not true!"

"Fine..." Jesy said, definitely not believing me.

"You guys! I don't like Zayn!" I said, and then I accidentally followed it with "there's someone else!"

All three of them looked at me, then Jesy asked "WHO?!!"

"Someone. Let's get back to the game!" I said, definitely not ready to confess my feelings for Jade.

It was Jade's turn. She rated Liam, Zayn and Louis, and nothing she said surprised me. She gave Harry a 6 for looks, and only a 4 for personality as she said she hated how he flirted with her all the time when she thought she was making it pretty obvious that she wasn't interested. Then it was the part I was dreading; Jade had to talk about Niall. She gave him a 7 for both looks and personality, which gave me some hope. Leigh had a cheeky undertone to her voice when she asked Jade about Niall, similar to the one she had when she asked me about Zayn, but Jesy didn't seem to be joining in. I wondered why.

"I think Niall's a really nice guy, and I really like him as a friend, but I really don't like him like he seems to like me. He's not my type" She said.

"Why not? You'd be so cute together" Leigh-Anne said.

"He's just really not my type" Jade repeated, clearly hiding something.

"I know you're hiding something Jadey! Do you like someone else too?" Leigh asked her.

"Maybe... but that's not the only reason I don't like Niall" She said. What was this girl on about?

"Tell us!" Leigh-Anne encouraged her.

"Leave her alone. She'll tell you when she's ready!" Jesy defended Jade.

"So you know? Pleaseeeee Jadeyyyyy!" She begged.

"Ok fine. I'm a lesbian" Jade said, sounding confident, but then she looked down at the floor. Wait, what? She can't be! I felt extremely happy, then realised it didn't matter; Jade would never like me anyway.

"Awwww you should've just said! None of us mind!" Leigh-Anne said.

"I told Jesy earlier and she said I should tell you guys, but I didn't think I actually would" Jade admitted. "Jesy was amazing but I was still scared. You three are the only ones in school who know".

"Who knows outside of school?" I asked her.

"Me mam, and everyone from my last school. That was the main reason I got bullied so badly there".

I suddenly felt so angry, how could anyone bully this amazing girl over something so small? I knew from that moment on that I was in love with her.
