Time goes slow

DEREK'S POV

Time was moving slowly. Meredith wouldn't get back into the car. I hadn't meant to upset her. I knew she had just told me one of her deep secrets that she was probably hoping no one would ever know. I wonder if she told her mom? Anyway, I was just upset and needed some time to think. I know it's hard for her to trust someone, I just couldn't believe she still didn't trust me. Okay, yeah, I could believe that after what happened. 

The car hit my car and I tumbled over, that's when time started moving slow. I saw Meredith look as the car plummeted towards her. Her beautiful eyes dancing around, to shocked to move. That's the last thing I saw before everything went black and I woke up, sideways. I looked around. Almost forgetting what had happened and then remembered. 

"MEREDITH?" I yelled seeing if she was alive. I was stuck, out in the middle of nowhere, not knowing where I was going to in the first place. Not knowing what else to do, I slowly unbuckled my seatbelt and grabbed the bag I had in the back which included a pair of scissors. With the scissors I rammed them into the window and broke it. I once again, slowly climbed out of the car and jumped down. My felt my leg snap when I did that and instantly knew it was broken. I fell onto the ground, not expecting it to hurt when I land. I got up, trying to find Meredith. She's more important.

I limped around the car, every few seconds yelling 'Meredith' hoping to hear anything from her. Suddenly, I heard ruffling noises coming from the bushes on the far side of the road. I limped as fast as I could to get to where the noises were. 

Please be alive. Please.

I thought to myself. When I got to the other side of the car I saw Meredith's body, smooshed under the tire. "Mer!" I screamed. It looked really bad. When I got over I could see her open her eyes a little. "Mer,  It's going to be okay! Okay? The police will find us! It's going to be okay. Everything will be fine!" I started freaking out. 

"Der-De-Derek. A-I l-lo-love y-you." She managed to get out. 

"I love you too! I love you so much Mer! But you're not dying. You will not die." I was convincing myself more than her. Suddenly I saw flashing lights coming towards us. It was a giant red pick up truck moving along slowly. "Help!" I yelled jumping in front of the bus so it would stop. It was a risk, but I had to save Mer. As the truck stopped, A small, chubby, man walked outside with his phone in his hands. "Call 911! This freak hit us." I said, panicked. He immediately started to type and pulled the phone up to his ear. I blocked out what he was saying to focus on what was happening to Meredith.

"Derek... I'm sorry-" She whispered, moving her hand slowly to my cheek before I cut her off.

"No. You're not dying. How's your breathing? Your pulse is weak, but your still alive. Obviously.." I said rolling my eyes at myself. Why was she apologizing? I'm the one who needs to say sorry. I've been such a jerk. Suddenly, I heard an ambulance coming our way. "The ambulance is coming. Your okay. You can hold on for a few minutes can't you?" I pressed my lips against hers before she could answer. The lights got closer and I brought my lips away from hers. "Mer?" She didn't answer.

The paramedics started coming over and removing the tire from under Meredith. The freckled faced doctor ran out pulling a gurney over to me while her partner picked Meredith out of my arms. "Wait! She stopped talking-" I cut myself off. "Can I go with you? She has no one else." I asked, pleadingly. The man nodded while jumping in the back himself. 

"How old are you two?" I pondered on that, not realizing that I wasn't in her grade and this was my last year, but only her second year.

"I'm assuming she's 16 and I'm 17, almost 18. Not that that matters anyway, but-" I started rambling, out of breath, I stopped. After a minute I finally said something, "My name's Derek. Derek Shepherd and this is Meredith Grey." 

"Are you two a couple?" He asked. That was a little personal, but I think he was trying to calm me down. 

"Yes, we were in a fight and she got out of my car and-" realization had hit me in the middle of my sentence. "Ohmygod. This is all my fault! I'm the reason she got out of the car in the first place! She wouldn't have been as badly injured! Oh no.. God this is all my fault!" The paramedic padded me on the back, rubbing my shoulder. 

"This is no one's fault, but that other drivers. Not yours, not Meredith's. It's the guy who hit you." I looked down realizing I had been crying. 

"Thank you." I whispered. The rest of the ride was silent.

It has been a few hours sense I've gotten here and I'm in the waiting room.. waiting. I don't know what I would do with myself if she died. The doctors had immediately ran her into surgery. They told me she should be fine, but we have no way of knowing. All of the sudden, I heard someone running right behind me, then a voice I would recognize anywhere.

"Oh my god! What happened? Where is she? Is she still in surgery?" Cristina ran up to me and hugged me before I even had a chance to get up. 

"Yeah, they should be out in a minute." me and Cristina sat there, speechless While I sat there and thought to myself, what have I done? And how can I fix this mess?

Sorry this took so long to update! I was trying to make it perfect, but it's kinda all over the place! I promise I'll update soon - right now I'm gonna go get something to eat and put on Grey's Anatomy

Omg have you guys seen the latest episode? It's literally the best thing ever! I so ship her and Will! What would there ship name be? Wileredith? Mill? ew these are terrible... anyway I think he would be good for her and I think he's really cute and funny! I hope she says yes to a date!
