She hated everything about him.The man's hair, the man's calm and joking demeanor, she hatted it.
He wasn't supposed to be calm, he was supposed to be afraid, he usually was, he was usually trembling by, why was he so calm?
Luna glared down at her hands, the faint sound of doors closing floors below in the background irritated her. The man the stood across the hall from her, was a, personal, friend of Harriet's that Luna took great joy in tormenting.
This man was tall, around six foot, and slender, his skin was blemished with brilliant red ache and his hair was a annoying shade of brown that reminded her so clearly of her dearest sister Ebony.
His name was Nathan, and she knew him quiet well, he was a college graduate, human autonomy, Luna had pieced little snippets of information together over the course of the past year. He was working for Harriet, or Marie,he got rid of the evidence, or so Luna was lead to believe.
And the only reason he was here, was the exact same reason Luna was here, Harry had them both under her thumb. The clinic he had been working with had fallen into a little financial problem, their sponsor had pulled out, and Harriet had stepped in and offered them a substantial sum of money, in exchange for a new ending supply of human shields.
A little morbid, but Luna had always admired and respected Harriet way of running things.
And this years model was Nathan, personally Luna had preferred last years version, her name was Stella. An out spoken girl, she was honest, and her honesty was her death unfortunately.
She just wouldn't stop talking, Luna didn't regret her actions that day, just like any other day.
"Luna, how lovely to see you." Said teen was escorted into the brightly lit room, the curtains were drawn, preventing Luna from using her powers.
She was sat down in front of a desk, and with the tiny chair and Luna height, she didn't exactly look like an intimidating adversary. And usually that would have worked in her favor, but these weren't usual circumstances.
"I'd love to say the same, had I not been wrongly threatened." Luna leaned back in her chair comfortably, seemingly unawares to the dangers that marched through town as they spoke.
"I won't deny that I did use some, crude methods to get you here." Harriet hesitated, attempting to find the perfect word that came suited to these unusual circumstances.
The shadow walker narrowed her eyes, and had a guard not been stationed not two feet away, she would have been up, slamming her hands on the woman's desk. Perhaps it were for the better that he had been there.
"Harriet, I have fulfilled my side of our partnership, I can't imagine why-" Harriet held up her hand, and with a shake of her head, she continued.
And while she talked, a woman, around the age of forty to forty-five strolled into the office like room, tea tray in both hands.
"For power of course, your the youngest of the Anarchy family, your abilities are formidable when used correctly, and you use them, correctly..." The woman set the tray down and as she was about to serve up the hot beverage, Harriet shooed her away and pored it herself.
Having known Luna for well over two years now, Harriet knew how the young Brit liked her tea, sweet and refunded, the Gil could smell good quality tea a mile away.
"Are you trying to make a point?!" Luna slapped away the cup offered to her and took great pleasure in watching the antique china fall to the ground and shatter all through the black carpet.
Harriet tisked Luna like she would a three year old who'd just spilled their breakfast all over themselves for the third time that day. She looked from the broke glass, right back to Luna as if nothing had happened and continued speaking calmly.
"In short, I want an army of Evo's, and even if I have to black mail them, and you, little Anarchy, can help me achieve that. You posses influence with your family name." The teen froze, her skin, paled, hardly making a difference in her already moonkissed skin, but it was somewhat noticeable, had you been looking for it.
And Harriet had, family was tough, no one could understand Luna as well as Harriet could when it came to family, save for her siblings of course.
"My family name??" Luna shrunk back, suddenly feeling what her height already told everyone in the room, small.
For the first time, in a long time, Luna longed for her mother to hold her.
But just like back then, she wasn't here, and she wasn't going to chase away the nasty monsters, that was Luna's job, always had been, always will be.
"The Anarchy's, one of the most feared and respected families, one of four still alive today if I'm correct." Harriet smiled wickedly, the second time she'd heard that name spoken, was two and a half years ago.
She could hardly contain her excitement ad in her eagerness to meet the little trouble maker, she had set out a bounty of ten thousand dollars to whom ever could bring the girl to her.
And someone did, it just wasn't who she's expected it to be, not in the slightest.
"And you?? Marie Laveau?" Luna tilted her head to an angle and stared at the voodoo queen blankly.
A look she knew got people's tempers bubbling and their hands fidgeting.
"What family did you come from?? Are you even one of the eight?!" Every family that Luna had ever heard of, had inherited their abilities from the one before them, save for Zero and only on rare occasions, was someone separate from one of the four blood lines born, or developed abilities in their later life.
But none as powerful as Marie Laveau and two hundred and sixteen year old hag.
"Or did you take your powers, just put a knife in their back right?? Bet you knew him... He was your husband wasn't he??"
"Enough!" Luna Anarchy, she had tired herself in, and collected her own bounty, then say down for tea and discussed their own alliance.
