Surprise!

You laid in bed, on the verge of sleep but not quite. Your uncle's prank had haunted your mind, the way he had popped out of no where and scared you..And that awful mask he wore..or,was it a helmet? You guess it didn't matter.

What did matter was how creepy the thing was, whether a mask or not that Fox he wore startled you half to death. But enough of that, you decided to at least try to stop thinking of the horrible prank and get some shut eye.

But that never happened, you didn't get sleep that night at all, on account of a familiar face crawling out your closet, you shuffled deeper under your blankets as the familiar drew closer. You shut your eyes tight as to avoids looking at him.

Guess he got a kick out of that attempt because he laughed before forcefully opening your eyelids.

"Surprise, kiddo, guess why I'm here why don't ya?"
He spoke softly yet with an edge.

The scariest part of this entire ordeal was not that your uncle was no where to be found, or even that this stranger invaded your room frequently leaving you without sleep or safety. But it was terrifying that you knew why he was here on this day; Your birthday.

"Alright, not gonna talk, that's fine."
He mumbled some words you weren't allowed to say around your uncle as he pulled out a camera, you tried to crawl away before he lifted you entirely out of bed by the ankle.

"Hey! How rude can you get!" He raised his voice as you winced, his purple uniform swinging as you looked at him upside down, your frail body swaying slowly as his voice suddenly lowered. "To try and leave a guest alone,"
He frowned as you gulped.

"THAT IS ABSOLUTELY RUDE LITTLE ONE!" He suddenly shouted which made you whine softly in fear. His voice quickly lowered as fast as it had risen as he smiled and aimed the camera.

"Now then, how old now? Fifth picture, so, you must be five.."
you nodded as tears quickly raced up your forehead and soaked into your hair, the quicker falling onto your blanket with soft pats.
He grinned as if you were both as happy as can be.

"Great! Now, smile for the camera..."
