Chapter Ten

Alright ladies, this game is big," Coach York starts off.

I look around at the girls and see the look of either determination or a fearless look that I wish I could have but of course I'm scared shitless.

We were playing against our rivals , Ridgeway. They beat us last year around the qualification round to get into the playoffs.

So yeah I was scared , and me thinking about that stupid kiss with Jacob isn't helping either.

"Soph?"

I looked up and saw everyone in a group huddle with there hands in the middle.

I quickly stood up and put my hand in the middle and we all chanted and threw our hands up.

Shelby, the goalie walked up to me.

"Let's knock em dead Soph!"

I smiled and nodded, trying to put my head in the game and push Jacob out of it.

We are all sat in the locker room during halftime, half of us fustrated and the other half just ready to give up.

Kelly got injured at minute 35. She is just as good as I am , and together we are the dream team. We make most of the goals and everyone always passes the ball to one of us, so obviously her and I are targets on the field.

"Even though Kelly is out we still have DiMaggio." Coach York said.

Everyone looked at me and I gulped.

Coach York smiled at me and continued.

"So when we are out there on that field and it's make or break just pass the ball to Sophie."

At the last minute Casey Mark on Ridgeway, took the ball right from under me and made a once in a life time goal. She shot it from the middle of the field, maybe that's why she's the best in the state.

After coach York's speech about how we did our best and what we have to do to beat Ridgeway next time, I changed into my black Nike joggers and put my team jacket on, threw my hair into a messy bun and grabbed my soccer bag.

Meloney was the first to approach me.

"Soph, you guys did well out there."

I shook my head and looked at her with a small smile.

"Just not good enough."

Meloney wrapped her arm around me while we continued to walk.

"Hush, don't say that, you are the best and you tried your best, that's all that matters." She said.

I just nodded instead of arguing with her since I wasn't in the mood.

We finally reached Maxx.

"Hey Soph, you guys will get em next time." He said while engulfing me in a hug.

"Yeah."

I looked around and noticed Jacob standing near the concession stand. I excused myself from Meloney and Maxx and approached him.

"You did good out there babe." He said.

I just gave him the same smile I gave Mel.

"Just not good enough." I repeated for the second time today.

"Oh hush , you are by far the best Soph, you are good enough. Never forget that." He said while moving a little closer to me.

I looked down to hide my smile. And shit I couldn't take it anymore, I grabbed for his hand and looked up and was met with his surprised face.

I giggled and stood on my tippy toes and kissed him.

He didn't kiss back at first since I'm guessing he was shocked that im even doing this and to be honest I am too.

"She fucking kissed him !" Meloney exclaimed.

Nicki gasped while Rena screamed.

I started to blush.

I shrugged, "no big deal guys it's just a kiss , doesn't mean anything."

"Fuck off! I saw you." Meloney said.

She turned to the girls and continued.

"They were talking and then I saw Sophie grab his hand and they just kissed. Boy you should've seen them going at it man." Meloney said.

"Shut up Mel it was just a kiss, a little peck. You're over exaggerating." I said.

Or maybe she wasn't.

I kissed him yeah and it took him a while to kiss back but damn when he did, the butterflies were back and I just couldn't bring myself to stop. So maybe we did make out a bit but honestly it wasn't that long maybe about a minute or so.

Meloney gave me that look, that look that says bitch stop lying I saw you basically tounge fuck his mouth look.

"Okay Soph I'll let you believe that."
