Immortality cant fix it

About a week later they were discharged from the hospital, Jacks colour returned, while Ianto's bruising healed "Thanks kiddo" Jack smiled as Liam helpedIanto into the hub "no problem" Liam smiled as he sat Ianto down on the couch, Jack sat next to him while Liam went off to the kitchen "Gwen and Rhys have invited us out for dinner" Jack smiled looking at his phone "define us, you and me or including Liam" Ianto asked "all three of" Jack smiled "that sounds good with me" Ianto smiled back, Liam returned quietly "hey... Uh... Do we have any Tylenol" Liam asked returning to the main room "yeah you okay?" Ianto asked "yeah just a headache" Liam sighed "uh it should be in the bathroom cabinet" Ianto spoke "you should know this" "oh yeah right thanks" Liam nodded before walking off, Ianto and Jack exchanged looks but shrugged it off as him being tired.

They had gotten ready an headed towards the restaurant, Liam sat in the back quietly "are we almost there" he asked, Jack looked over a Ianto "yes we just parked I told you like a minute ago..." Jack spoke "oh yeah right" Liam spoke getting out of the car, Ianto frowned at Jack, Jack shrugged unsure on what was going on.

They sat across the table from Gwen and Rhys chatting  politely "so how are you guys doing" Gwen smiled "we're doing better, thankyou" Ianto smiled "yes I heard you two were in some trouble"  Rhys spoke as he took another bite of steak "yeah... But we're fine" Jack nodded "so how'd it happen anyways?" Rhys asked "it's uh... Complicated" Jack sighed "it was all my fault" Liam sighed looking down at his food "it wasn't" Ianto replied looking over at him "you guys could've died..." Liam frowned "but we didn't, please stop being so hard on yourself" Ianto reassured "I didn't mean to bring it up" Rhys frowned "don't worry Rhys he's been like this all week" Jack explained "Ianto why don't you bring him outside" Jack smiled softly, Ianto nodded and they went outside leaving Jack with Gwen and Rhys "he's been like this all week, forgetting things his appetites grown increasingly, mood swings, I would say hormones but I would've seen it increase but this just happened out or the blue" Jack sighed "Jack, wasn't he hit in the head" Gwen spoke up "yes twice" Jack nodded "maybe that's why" she added "he's immortal it wouldn't be long maybe like a day or two" Jack stated "Carolynne wasn't immortal"Gwen spoke, Jacks eyes widened "that's right she wasn't..." He frowned looking down at his hands "wait I'm confused" Rhys stopped "Carolynne was the intern we had years ago, had a kid with Jack came back died" Gwen explained "Liam is my son" Jack added "isn't there someone you can get to check him?" Rhys asked "he's immortal so, doctors aren't much use and Owen didn't make it" Jacks voice trailed off "Martha" Gwen spoke "Martha... Yeah she would work"  Jack smiled, Ianto walked in "I'll meet you at home he's worn himself out" he explained kissing Jacks cheek then leaving.

Ianto sat on Liam's bedside watching him sleep, he gently brushed away some of Liam's hair and saw a mark on his forehead "Ianto I'm home!" Jack smiled walking in,  Ianto brushed the hair back over the scar,"ssh he's asleep" Ianto whispered directing Jack out of Liam's room, "I called Martha I want her to check him out, and see if he's okay" Jack whispered "when's she coming?" Ianto asked "tomorrow morning she's catching a flight tonight" Jack explained "Jack" Ianto spoke Jack put his finger on Ianto's lip "ssh just time for bed" he whispered then pulled him to bed.

Liam laid in bed, listening to Jack and Ianto greet the woman they called Martha "Liam come here!" Jack shouted, Liam stood up and walked into the main room and looked at the three of them "Liam this is Martha Jones" Jack smiled, Liam didn't reply "you're here because there's something wrong with me" He spoke, Ianto frowned "she'll take care of you" Jack reassured him, Liam walked to Martha and followed her to the examination room, "Jack I'm worried about" Ianto frowned "he'll be fine he's Immortal" Jack smiled "Jack I don't-" Ianto spoke "he's my son he is immortal!" Jack sighed convinced himself "Jack I don't think he is in a way" Ianto protested "Ianto stop it! He is immortal!" Jack growled "Jack Ianto! Come here!" Martha shouted, they both walked in "Jack what happens to bullets when you're shot?" Martha asked "they just dissolve" Jack explained "okay and when you heal don't ou have scars?" Martha asked "no" Jack replied "you saw them too" Ianto spoke "what?" Jack questioned "he has scars from the bullet holes" Martha explained brushing Liam's hair to show to the scar on his forehead "the bullets aren't gone either, and the damage to his brain" Martha spoke "so what are you saying..." Jack questioned "he's not completely immortal, Jack that's what I've been trying to say!" Ianto shouted, Jack stopped and looked over at Ianto "he's not..." Jack whimpers trying to fight back the tears, "and there's nothing we can do about it" Jack spoke as the tears rolled down his face, Liam sat quietly listening to it all "no! I can't believe it!" Jack cried "Jack please calm down" Martha tried to comfort him "it's okay" Ianto frowned, Liam quietly left the room with out them noticing, he got into one of his suits and put on his vortex manipulator and left the hub in silence, Ianto looked over to where Liam should've been, but was shocked that he wasn't, he stood up and walked to the spot, he ran out of the room quickly and searched for him "Liam!" He shouted, Jack looked up wiping away the tears, he looked frantically around the room looking for Liam "he's gone!" He panicked bolting up and helping Ianto search the Hub.

Liam walked down the bay "mum was right the lies were better... The truth... Hurts too much" he thought to himself, he walked into a cut of area and felt an odd gust of wind, he stopped in his reals and stared at the blue box that appeared out o nowhere, a man in a beige trench coat stepped out and steed at Liam in confusion.

"Why would he leave?!" Jack paced frantically "don't you see, we made him feel like he's defective" Ianto stated "because he is! He's not immortal!" Jack frowned "so what!?" Ianto growled "he can die Ianto!" Jack growled back "so can I!" Ianto snapped at him "yes but Liam is my son! He's supposed to be immortal!" Jack growled "He's not you Jack he's Liam!" Ianto growled "do you even care about him?!" Jack growled back, Ianto's shoulders relaxed and the aggressive look in his eyes turned to sadness "i love that boy, he is my son too, I've been helping to raise him aswell making sure he keeps his manners, making sure he is happy while you rush around all willy nilly like you own the world, I've been keeping him under control!" Ianto spoke trying to keep calm while tears ran down his face "what do you mean?" Jack asked "he hasn't been okay since the first bullet" Ianto spoke trying to stay calm "why didn't you ever tell me?" Jack asked "you over react" Ianto explained.

The man stopped, his eyes widened as he grabbed Liam's arm and yanked him into the blue box, once they were in the doors closed by themselves and the man let go of Liam "what?" Liam questioned unsure of what's going on "why'd you do that? Who are you? Where am I?" He finally spoke "those were Daleks, they will follow us, I'm the Doctor, this is the TARDIS!" The man explained dashing around the room "the Doctor? THE Doctor?" Liam questioned "yes I'm The Doctor" he answered tuning to Liam "Dad talks about you some times" Liam smiled "dad? Who's your dad?" The Doctor asked "Jack Harkness, I don't know if you remember him" Liam spoke "Jack..." The Doctor let out a sigh and nodded "of course I remember him" he smiled "so you're his son, weird, so was he you know... Or was it a woman?" He asked "uh... My mother... WAIT WHAT?!" Liam's eyes widened panicking "never mind!" The Doctor exclaimed, Liam shuddered in disgust and walked to the control panel "so this is the TARDIS" Liam spoke avoiding any other conversations on Jacks past "yes he's tol you stories?" The Doctor asked "more or less recycled stories from Jack to my mum to me" Liam let out a sigh "well they are all true! From the cybermen to the end of the world" the Doctor sighed "uh sir... Can I travel with you?.. I don't want to be dump in another part of Cardiff, I want to travel the universe fight aliens!" Liam smiled "Jack would be worried" the Doctor stated "it's a time machine is it not?" Liam smiled "well first we have to go pick up one more person" the Doctor gave a promising smile, before rushing around and flying off, Liam stumbled and hit his head causing him to pass out.

Liam bolted up to see the Doctor and a woman standing above him "who's he again?" She asked "Jacks son" te Doctor bounced to the control panel "like Capt. Jack?" The blonde woman asked "yes" the Doctor responded turning to her "w-what" Liam stuttered sitting up "ah Liam! You're awake this is Rose!" The Doctor smiled "hi" Liam replied standing up "that voice..." He thought to himself.
