Skyscraper Pt. 2

In the future, you have an idea who your real friends are, and who you thought were friends, but were really your enemies all along. For Lauren Carmichael [Lauren Cimorelli], she learned that the very hard way. 

This is a big story so it will be spread into several parts..

On August 12th, 2031 a businesswoman by the name of Lauren Christine Carmichael just celebrated her 33rd birthday. She took some time away from music to pursue other endeavors and has become pretty established. Unfortunately it hasn't been the best of times for Lauren as her older sister Lisa died last month. Lisa was really Lauren's closest friend. Her husband Mark Carmichael and their 2 kids Steve and Jenni are holding things down as they think about how much Lisa impacted them. Unfortunately for Lauren, those were really the only close people she had left in her lives. Her sisters have pretty much left her in the dust, except maybe for Danielle who hasn't completely forgotten about Lauren.

All the girls are married

At work one day, Lauren was taking care of some research when one of her assistants came in and said, 'Lauren, meeting at 10 AM.' She said, 'Okay I'm coming.' Dressed in a beautiful business suit and work glasses, Lauren headed to her meeting with confidence. It was a busy meeting where a lot of stuff was discussed on how to expand the company. The boss said, 'We have to add more staff to grow this company.' Lauren added, 'If we do that, we risk tiring others out because of exhaustion. We need to really think about this. Maybe we should add better quality rather than add more people.' One person had said, 'I like Lauren's idea boss. Let's do it.' The rest of the group agreed and the boss nodded, then got to work on adding better quality. As she was heading back to her office she saw her sister Katherine nearby and bolted. Lauren wanted to chase her, but thought better and went to her office again and got back to work. She said to herself, 'Research is hard, but I can do this.' Then minutes passed and she had heard a knock on her door. She saw a familiar face. It was

Dani.

Lauren said, 'Dani OMG. I missed you. What are you doing here?' Danielle said, 'Hi Lauren, I was transferred here. My husband said I think I needed a new start so here I am.' But Lauren then said, 'Wait, I thought you were still doing music? What happened?' Danielle added, 'Long story. I can't say now, it would take hours. We got work to do so let's do it.' With that, Danielle went to her office and Lauren got back to work. Danielle called her husband real quick and told him, 'Hey honey, I just got here. Don't worry, I have big things planned for Lauren. Hehe.'

Meanwhile in Lauren's office, she started to get a bit anxious. She felt her Skyscraper was tilting a bit. She hopped up and wanted to know what was going on, but her assistant said, 'Lauren, I'll handle it. You focus on your work. I know you're anxious, but relax. I'm here.' At ease, Lauren breathed a sigh of relief and got back to work again.

Meanwhile, a devious woman named Amy Morrison [Lauren's sister] had hated Lauren's guts so much, that she wanted to disown her for a number of years. She felt betrayed by what Lauren has done to the family and wanted to get payback. So she called Danielle.

Lauren felt scared.

A/N:This story might not make sense when it comes to the song, but I'm going out on a limb with this one. Skyscraper is a strong song, so I'm going with a powerful story in the works.
