NOTE:The song is from 2008, but the story that takes place is not in 2008. You will see why.
SINGING MY SONG TAKES PLACE IN 1998 TO START, it will make sense soon enough.
A record producer was driving around town one day as he was looking for the next great young talent. What he found would amaze him.
'Oh my', he said with glee, and he paid close attention to what was happening. A girl with beautiful hair and a nice clean-cut outfit was singing to the crowd. She was singing Alanis Morissette's You Oughta Know and the crowd was cheering her on. Singing and dancing, she was having fun. After a few songs, she stopped and caught her breath. She was only 8 years old but she dug deep, singing her song.
I am 'Singing My Song', she said.
After the performances, she went home with her family and told them, 'Mom, dad, I wanna do this for a living.' They said, 'OK sure thing. Get to practicing.' The record producer wanted to know her name so he asked around who it was.
That girl was a young woman named Christina. Christina Lynne Cimorelli.
Christina was at home playing the piano and her young sister Katherine checked in on her. She asked, 'Hey sis, what you doin'?' Christina replied, 'Just singing my song. You?' Katherine added, 'Cool. I'm gonna go play with Amy. She's bored.' Christina then said, 'OK have fun. I'll play with her later. Lauren's probably sleeping right now too.' Katherine then said, 'Yeah you know how infants are.' Christina is only 8 years old and Katherine is just 6. Lisa is 5, Amy is only 3 and Lauren is just a couple months old. Their brothers Mike is 9 and Alex is just 2. Christina continued to play the piano when she heard a knock on the door. The mom Lynne checked to see who it was. He said, 'I'm a talent scout.' Confused, Lynne opened the door and welcomed him in. He went over to Christina and said, 'Dude, you were so good.' Christina said, 'Oh? Me? I'm not like an all-star or anything. I do wanna sing.' He said, 'OK cool. Keep in touch, here's my number.' She added, 'Wait what? Dude I'm 8!' He said, 'I'm also a record producer.' Dumbfounded, she was so lost. He wants to take a chance on me? ~she thought.
Christina would ultimately not sign with him and would focus on her schooling, while practicing to become a better singer and pianist.
2001:3 years later
Christina now 11 was continuing to practice. Her mom Lynne gave birth to a 8th child in Danielle. Being the precocious child she is, Danielle checked on her sister and said. 'Big sis! Big sis!' Christina puzzled that her sister Danielle was already chatty at 1. Christina said, 'Hey Danielle, what's up?' Danielle showed her a picture of a flower. Christina smiled. 'Nice. Go Danielle. :) ' They smiled at each other, hugged it out and Christina went back to practicing.
Christina said to herself, 'Music is in my future. I know it.'
2006:5 years later.
At 16, Christina was ready to go for it. She wanted to make music a career. Her sister Katherine now 14 checked in on her and said, 'Hi Chris, can I come in?' She said 'Yes.' They talked and it was pretty telling that they and the rest of the family wanted to pursue music.
2008:2 years later.
Cimorelli performs Singing My Song and other songs at an event. Lauren, Amy, Lisa, Katherine, Christina and big bro Michael Jr. rock out for the crowd.
The rest as they say is history.

PRESENT DAY
7 years have passed and now Christina is living the dream at 25. She bumps into someone familiar while doing a photoshoot with her sisters, that would be the same record producer she met in 1998. He told her, 'Hey remember me?' She said 'Yeah. I still have to decline your offer. I'm living the life I always wanted.' Without hesitation, he sighed and said bye. The girls would continue to do their photoshoot while singing.
Sometime later, the girls are asked a question by a host at a gala they went to. 'What do you wanna do?' he said. Christina answered, 'I don't know but I have an idea what I could do.'
He said, 'And that is?'
Christina closed, 'Singing My Song'
And with that Christina and her sisters sang at the gala.
Oh the life <3
---------
15 years later, the girls moved on and went on with their lives as soloists. Christina now at 40 years old was living with Nick and their 3 children. Their oldest daughter wanted to ask them something and said, 'Mom & dad I have a song to sing for you all.' Christina said, 'Sure thing kiddo, what's that?' She said, 'Singing My Song'.
Christina smiled and Nick followed suit.
With that their oldest daughter sang for her parents. They loved it and hugged their daughter.
'I love being a mom yo' :)
