~•-------------------•~Dallon showed up at Kaitlyn's door again. That time, Kaitlyn answered it. She had a strong feeling that it would be Dallon, and she was more than happy that it was.
Dallon seemed to be waiting for Kaitlyn to say something as he smiled happily at her, but then he realized that he'd always have to be the one to talk. "Do you want to take a walk?"
Kaitlyn's smile slightly faltered, but she nodded anyway.
"No, we don't have to if you don't want to," Dallon said, noticing her shift in expression. "Can I come in?"
When Kaitlyn made a welcoming hand motion, Dallon followed Kaitlyn inside. They sat and sort of waited. They just stared off at nothing for a little while. It was difficult for Dallon to be the only one able to make conversation in the friendship. He didn't talk much in the first place.
It had been a while of awkwardly empty silence when Kaitlyn sighed. Dallon's head quickly shot up and his eyes followed Kaitlyn's movements toward her room. As she walked away Dallon couldn't help but feel culpable of ruining a potential relationship.
When Kaitlyn came back, she had several movies in her hands. Dallon's earlier guilt turned into relief and a smile formed on his face. Kaitlyn spread the movies out in front of Dallon and he sat and basked in just the beauty of their cases. He had to make the vital choice of The Godfather, Star Wars, or The Silence of the Lambs.
"These movies don't even compare!" Dallon exclaimed with emphasis on every word. "How could you leave me to make such a decision on my own?"
Kaitlyn just shrugged and giggled. Those three movies were some of Dallon's favorites, so choosing between them was a killing job.
After probably a minute, or two, of just staring in between movies, Dallon finally chose The Silence of the Lambs, much to Kaitlyn's surprise. Dallon thought the movie's thrilling nature should score some cuddling time between Kaitlyn and himself.
And it was nice. Occasionally hearing Kaitlyn's giggles at the gruesome parts of the movie was like catching hold of heaven for just a second, then letting go when she stopped. After the movie ended, both of them were sound asleep, cuddled together on the couch just as Dallon had planned.
