Both of them sat at the back of the coffee shop at five in the morning, slowly taking bites from their bagels. Niether wanted schooling to happen today. But it was what they paid for.

Throughout the past week, Kaitlyn and Dallon grew such a special bond. They were best friends, better than anyone. But niether of them wanted to be. They wanted to be more. They wanted to be better friends than they already were.

After the boring lectures, Kaitlyn was excited to see Dallon again. She'd lived up to this for three days. Each time she'd wanted to take the act, she either couldn't or wouldn't. Now that it was her last chance, nothing was stopping her. It was time to break a semester-long promise that she had made from the inception.

She met up with Dallon. He smiled at her, greeted her, and as always, Kaitlyn could see through his amicable grin. Hopefully, he could see through hers, too.

While Dallon was mid-greeting, Kaitlyn quickly grabbed his hand and dragged him toward the dormitories. He was muddled, confused. With no knowledge of where she was dragging him to, all Dallon could do was chase behind.

When they finally got into Kaitlyn's room, they were both panting, but Kaitlyn was pacing madly. Dallon was shocked, though. With a tiny smile and a tear of the same size threatening to leave his eyelids, he acknowledged the tiny fragments of words that left Kaitlyn's mouth as she paced. "A-Are you talking? T-To me?" he asked, stuttering due to his heavy breathing. Now he was only panting due to the surprise. "What are you trying to say?" he asked, taking a small step closer with an ever-growing grin.

Kaitlyn spent another three seconds pacing, breathing, and stuttering until finally, she made her move. She pushed Dallon back against the wall behind them, her eyes shut, and her lips planted on his. It was a blissful affair for both of them up until Kaitlyn pulled away. She looked straight into Dallon's eyes, brown to blue, and finally, after waiting so long, said "I love you" with the weakest and most soft voice Dallon had ever heard. Despite the raspiness, it was like music to his ears.

Dallon couldn't resist breaking into a smile. "I love you," he breathed before Kaitlyn kissed him one last time. That time, it was only slightly longer by just a few seconds. Both enjoyed it; the feeling was better than anything either had enjoyed before.

Finally, Kaitlyn pulled away. She let go of her push on Dallon, only to put it back on his hand and lead him out the door. That left Dallon to lean against the outside of the door with a pleasant smile across his face. Kaitlyn had done the same on the other side. She had practiced nonstop for two days for such a moment while he hadn't even expected it, yet both felt accomplished and overjoyed.

A good day and a good ending.
