Evelyn's P.O.V

Rick went to go get Judith and I stayed awake through out the night with Carl.

I didn't move from my positing when we first went in to see Carl

I heard a knock on the door frame and saw Judith is Ricks arms

"Do you want to hold her?" He asked and I nodded

Rick handed her over and she began to fuss

"Shh, it's okay baby.. He's okay.." I whispered and cradled her with my one free arm

The other one was intertwined with Carl's hand

Judith pointed at Carl

"Yup, that's your brother, Carl.. Right now he's hurt bad but you and I both know he can make it through this

"C-c-Carl?" Judith stuttered and I smiled

"Yup, that's him.." I said

Judith felt like she was cold "aw, are you cold?" I cooed

I set Judith on my lap and took off Carl's flannel

"This should keep you warm, it's your brothers." I said and tucked her into his flannel

"You really do look like Carl." I said and she smiled a toothless smile

Judith reached for the other side of me, towards Carl

"Do you want to lay by him?" I asked and set her next to Carl and I's hand. Her cuddled next to him

I smiled at Judith as she began to fall asleep

All so peaceful

No noise
No walkers
No groaning
No gun shots
No screaming

I squeezed Carl's hand and almost started crying

"Please stay alive.." I whispered

I felt someone squeeze my hand, again.

I looked up and Carl was trying to open his eye

"Carl?" I asked sitting up

"Hmm?" He mumbled, giving up on opening his eye

I gasped

"Denise!" I said running up out of the room

"Carl! H-he's awake!" I shrieked and we all rushed back in to see Carl looking down at Judith pulling her closer

Denise quickly walked in "Carl, are you feeling okay?" She asked

He shrugged "not the best." He said quietly

"You're free to go whenever, Carl." She smiled and walked out

"Carl, you scared me so freaking much." I said kneeling down by his bed

It took him a little while to respond "I'm sorry, Eve.." He mumbled

"It's okay. It's not your fault.." I answered looking down at my hands

We both sat in silence until Rick said something.

"We should get back. Someone might need this room.." Rick said and we nodded
