"I'm homeeee!" I walked through the ornate front door. No body answered.
"Mom? Dad? Ed?" I dropped down my backpack and stood in the middle of the foyer.
"Up here, kid!" A familiar, deep voice yelled.
I ran upstairs and found Ed's door. Opening it, I saw him sitting with his guitar on his bed.
"Hey, buddy! How was school?"
"Good, how was your party?" I raised my eyebrow at him.
"Umm...you mean how was YOUR party?" He looked down at his guitar and played with the strings.
"What party?" What the heck?
"Well, you weren't home last night."
"Because you kicked me out!"
He stood up a furrowed his eyebrows.
"What?!?"
"Mom told me you had a party and you told her to make sure I wasn't home!" Something was wrong. Ed looked worried and I felt like was going to cry.
He came over to me and wrapped his arms around me.
"Matt...I think Mom might umm...not enjoy you. Very...much..."
I looked up at him. He was taller than me by just a few inches. But it was enough to have me look up.
"Yeah, because I'm not perfect like you."
He looked up and around and then back down at me.
"She left."
"She's not worth any tears. She hated me anyways."
"She was drunk last night. She must've called you and told you not to come home because she kicked me out too.
I came home and found beer bottles everywhere. She was in the dining room and told me not to move.
There was a gun shot.
She was in front of me.
I ran away.
Dad is gone too, buddy."
I looked at him. He looked at me. And we sat there. Together. The last of the Sheeran's.

'Hi Matt! Its Lindsay. I know you're there and just not answering me. Call me back!'
'Matt, answer me!'
'Matt, I'm serious call me back asap!'
'Matt, I know how you feel. Just call me back and we can talk.'
'I know your alone. What other friends do you have?'
'Matt, please.'
'Helga's calling me for dinner. Call me.'
Lindsay had called me 27 times. But I didn't want to talk to her. I didn't want to talk to anyone. She didn't understand. She thought I was famous. She thought I had it all. She's not a true friend.
It would have all been better if it hadn't leaked. If the paparazzi didn't find out that Ed Sheeran's parents had passed away.
Lindsay wouldn't have known.
I would get to tell her myself.

I stayed in my room alone until the next day at 2pm.
There was knock on the door and Ed's strong voice said, "You need humanity in there...I'm afraid you're turning into just a spirit."
The door opened and I was expecting to see Ed. But it wasn't Ed. It was Lindsay.
I didn't get up from out of my bed and didn't even drop the covers.
"Go away."
She sat down on my desk chair and dropped some books at on the desk.
"I had to bring your homework."
"Oh. Now you can leave."
"No, there's something else..."
She looked down and twiddled her thumbs.
I sat up in my bed and she gave me a funny look.
"Why aren't you wearing a shirt?"
"Don't change the subject."
"I'm sorry, but that had to be said."
"What'd you want to tell me?"
I was curious now, rather than just annoyed.
"I shouldn't."
She stood and started towards the door.
I ran over and caught her shoulder.
"Say what you want to say. Let the words fall out. Honestly, I want to see you be brave."
She sighed.
"This doesn't change anything, but I like you more than a friend. I have since I saw you the first time."
With that she left my room and ran up the stairs.
