"Camille!" I yelled as I jumped in her arms.
"Woah. What's going on here Liz?" Camille asked frazzled. I couldn't help but laugh at her facial expression. She looked exceptionally worried with a hint of amusement.
"Nothing... except I totally aced my test. Well thanks to you that is." I heard a slight chuckle to my right and that's when I seen quite a handsome man sitting at the bar watching us in amusement.
"Oh. Uh... Did I cut into a conversation here?" I had no idea if they were conversing with each other or not but I mean it is our job to talk to our customers when they do come in.
"No. That's quite alright. I just got here." Wow. He has an accent. I don't mean to be stereotypical or anything but I haven't heard a British accent in a long time and plus his sounds super sexy.
"Okay. Well, I'm Solisfilia. You can call me Liz." I introduced myself while holding out a hand.
"Elijah. Elijah Mikaelson. You have quite an unusual but beautiful name Solisfilia." He stood and took my hand. When our hands touched though I felt something odd. It's just in my imagination, I thought to myself.
"Nice to meet you. Now what's bothering someone like you?" I blurted out without thinking. That's when I finally started to blush.
Clearing my throat, I started to say, "I mean, you seem like somethings bothering you since you know, you're talking to a bartender and all, which only happens when someone is bothered or is trying to hit on us-" I rambled but was cut off.
"What she means to say is, what brings you to the big easy?" Camille said embarrassingly yet amused.
He chuckled and said, "I used to live here."
"Really? When?" Cami asked.
"Oh. Feels like a hundred years ago." He looked amused while saying this.
"You are a completely vague person." I mumbled earning a slight nudge to my side.
"I just moved here myself. What brought you back?" Cami asked.
"Well, my brother's here somewhere. I'm afraid he's got himself into a bit of a bind."
"Just like a said, vague." I mumbled quieter so Cami didn't hear me, while serving up someone a shot.
"You say that like it's a common occurrence."
"Well, he's complicated. Defiant. Ill-mannered. A little temperamental."
"Sounds like Liz."
"Hey!" I scoffed while Elijah chuckled.
"I'm sorry, continue." Cami giggled out.
"See, we don't share the same father. Of course, that never bothered me, but my brother resents it deeply. He never felt like he belonged." I inhaled deeply when I seen Cami glance at me.
"All told, he has a long history into getting himself into trouble." Elijah finished.
"And I'm guessing you have a long history of getting him out of it. What kind of bind is your brother in?" Cami asked.
"He believes that there is people in this town that are conspiring against him."
"Wow. Narcissistic and paranoid." Cami let out. Then quickly said," Sorry. Bartender with a grad degree in psychology. Total cliche."
"Ain't that the truth." I said.
"Listen. Camille... and Solisfilia-" Elijah started to say.
"It's just Liz." I quickly said earning a smile from Elijah.
"I'm looking for someone who might shed some light on this current predicament. She works here. Jane-Anne Deveraux. Know where I can find her?"
"No." I responded with a forced smile causing him to look at me suspiciously.
"But we know someone who might." Cami added.
Shit. I thought to myself.
