"Thank you so much. I guess vampire blood doesn't heal every wound on me." I gave out a weak laugh which earned me a pity smile from Eve.

"You shouldn't be mixed with vampires and witches especially during this time. The least I could do was help. I also don't think he would be okay with you being left wounded." Eve nodded toward Jackson's wolf who is sat beside me.

I smiled and reached my hand up to pet him.

"Yeah. I still don't understand why though. Why is he so protective of me?" I looked back up at Eve who stayed staring at Jackson.

"I believe he will tell you soon enough." She stood off the bayou floor and held a hand out to me. "Come. I must get you back before they start to worry and come searching."

I grabbed her hand and once I was standing, I wiped off my bottom and nodded.

~~~
I walked up to the cabin that I was once held in with Hayley. Eve had pointed me in the direction and stayed back so she could keep an eye on me but stay out of sight.
Each step I took I became wary in case Tyler came back or something just popped out. Once I reached the door I heard murmuring so I opened it.
"Hello-- Agh!" I cried out as my head hit the wall beside the door.
"Elijah!" Hayley yelled out to Elijah who looked extremely ill and also had his hand wrapped around my neck. Veins protruded underneath his pitch black eyes as I grabbed onto his wrist. I tried prying off his hand but it wouldn't budge.
"Elijah," my voice rasped out. "Elijah, what the hell?"
Elijah's panting grew more frequent as he slowly released me falling to the floor. Hayley rushed forward and held me by my shoulders.
"Are you okay?"
"Oh yeah. Having a hand wrapped around my throat, of course, I'm doing great." I sarcastically mumbled. I reached toward a whining, sweating Elijah who was laying on the floor.
"What's going on with him?" I look to Hayley with wide eyes. She sighed and gestured for me to help put him back onto the makeshift bed.
"Symptoms of a werewolf bite."
I sat at the head of the bed and placed Elijah's head in my lap.
"Can you get me a cold rag to help with the fever?" I asked Hayley. She nodded and rushed to the sink. I looked down to Elijah and moved his hair off his forehead dismissing the sweat that got onto my hands at the moment.
"Here." I grabbed the cold rag and placed it onto Elijah's forehead. He hissed but otherwise kept panting and sleeping.
I looked up at Hayley who looked to be tired and worried.
"Go get some fresh air. He should be fine for now." Hayley nodded and stepped out the door beside me leaving only the screen closed.
I looked back down to Elijah who started to fidget in his sleep and I couldn't help but wonder the pains he was going through.
I flipped the rag over after a long five minutes but I never got to put the rag back on his head because he jumped in the air kicking down a table and panting even harder. I quicker brought him closer to me as Hayley came back in. I forgot about the rag as I put my hand to his head to feel his fever except for I somehow got pulled into his thoughts.
I was faced with a beautiful women who was inside a bathtub. I also heard whispers and then Elijah call out, "Oh Celeste," as he reached out and start to rub my arms.
