Lucas's pov
Back in Austin, Texas in my old school I was in a fight. I was expelled for school for one year. I came to New York to start over a new life for me. Two weeks later a person for my old school came. Telling everyone about the secret that I was hiding. Now I'm an outsider just because of that secret that I kept. I'm Lucas Friar by the way. When everyone knows your secret, they'll make fun of you for that one thing. In John Quincy Adams middle school, they have a social hierarchy that tells you what you will be in the world, it stupid. The outsiders are in the bottom of the class, that means to me that you are nothing in the world, you'll never fit in to society. I wanted everyone else in the school to be themselves, be imperfect. But I can't, or can I?

After school, I got a text message from my friend and outsider, Riley Matthews.
Lucas,
I think I have an idea for the assignment. This would change John Quincy Adams middle school forever.

Riley,
That awesome!! What is it?
As soon as I sent the text, she texted me back right away.
Just wait at the door and we can go to the library okay?

Yeah sure.
Riley and I met at the subway when she sat right next to me. At that moment, I fallen in love with her the moment I saw her. It was only at 5:00pm as I got to her apartment. I knocked on the door to see if she was home, the door opened it was Mr. Matthews. He opened the door and look at me, with an anger look.
"Is Riley home?" I asked after he opened the door. Riley came to the room seeing her dad at the door. Mr. Matthews replied even if I saw Riley next to him.
"Riley not home!"
"Hi, Lucas I'm ready go."
I smiled, but Mr. Matthews looked at both of us. "NO!!" He then slammed the door right in my face, confused I leaned forward to listened in. I couldn't hear anything, but turn the door knob to see if it was still unlocked. It was I opened the door, but I heard a sound.
"The door was unlocked, where's your dad?"
"Um, Lucas?" She pointed where her dad was. I turned to the door inside the room seeing Mr. Matthews whole body was moved when I opened the door. "Sorry, sir."
"Riley, sweetie. Is this a date? Please this can't be a date!!" Mr. Matthews asked his daughter.
"Dad, it not a date, Lucas and I are going to the library to do our assignment." Riley said.
"But it's late."
"It's 5:00pm" Riley responded
"Fine, but I got my eye on you!" Mr. Matthews told me as we left to go to the library.
"Your dad is kinda-"
"Overprotective, yeah I know."
I really want to ask her on a date, because she's a cute girl that so adorable.
