PICTURE Alec (mystery guy) and Aurora
SONG Art Deco, Lana Del ReyADAIR'S POINT OF VIEW
Wesley seemed on edge today, more awkward than the usual.
I woke up this morning on my floor. That's the weirdest thing of all. I definitely don't prefer it over an actual mattress, and I never sleep walk—that I'm aware of.
I let out a shriek as I felt a hand grip my arm.
"Woah! Chill out! Sorry I scared you."
It was a grinning Conall, of course. I scoffed and continued past him, trying to get home.
"Okay well I just wanted to let you know that Sage, Verity, Mishu and I are going to Blackout and want you to join."
Blackout is a place many people go to to have a good time, even if they're younger than eighteen. The establishment has a secure back-room where anyone could procure a fake ID for a 'small fee'. So you basically enter from the back to get one if you're not legal, and once you have one you can start getting in through the front. Each of us have our own, but I barely use mine.
"I'll think about it."
"You can bring along Aurora too... I mean, if you don't mind me talking to her that is."
"You know, if you want to make a move on her, she will hurt you right?" I asked.
"Yeah, I know! Whatever just think about it," he urged.
I flipped him off, playfully, as I reached the steps of the porch.
I rang Aurora when I finally reached the comfort of my bedsheets.
"Hey, Aurora. Want to go to Blackout later? The others will be there."
"Sounds like fun. Thank goodness because I really have an urge to do something tonight."
"Alright, see you later. Love you!"
"Love you too boo," she replied, and we hung up.
Tonight I'll be dressed in my plain all- black Converse, black leggings, and an off-shoulder shirt.
I arrived and all I saw was drinking and people grinding on each other. Seems like they were having a good time.
The place was as it always was—dark with blacklights, which made things glow. The open floor was always smoky with slowly changing colors.
Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion. I didn't see my friends, but I did see someone.
They had the silky black hair of a raven and wore a black leather jacket.
There were features that made him stand out.
I saw these features outlined in the darkness before escaping the woods.
But what could be the odds I really could've been chased by someone that night, and I actually made it out alive?
A leather jacket, nicely shaped black brows, cheekbones and what seemed to be sterling-grey eyes, similar to Wesley's. Both of them have this beauty I've never witnessed before in my life.
I then saw Aurora.
She was talking to that guy.
My feet wanted to stay planted onto the floor, but I gathered a sliver of courage, enough to go up to them—only because it was my friend.
"Aurora! Where is everybody?" I asked nonchalant, trying to avoid contact at all with the stranger.
"They're over in the corner at that table. I'll be over there in a sec," she answered, trying to brush me off. It was unlike her to shoo me away.
I felt his eyes trailing me. They burned holes through my skin and I wanted more than anything to melt.
I retreated to the group which, like she said, was at a table towards one corner of the club."Finally!" Conall exclaimed. "I obviously see Aurora's having a good time. Glad to see you made it Adair." He winked.
"Conall, don't wink at me," I warned.
Before, I couldn't wait to spend some time with my friends, but it didn't turn out to be as fun as I hoped. All I could think of at the very moment was, strangely, Wesley.
"Do any of you know who the guy with Aurora is?" I asked.
"No but he doesn't look our age," Verity suggested.
I nodded and walked away. That suggestion doesn't really help. Aurora likes older boys, and anyone could tell this one wasn't our age, but he was still young. I need to know who he is.
My mind begged me not to, but I shook off my suspicions of him. I don't want to be paranoid. I don't want to think of the worst.
I left Blackout as nobody could notice. It got colder throughout the night, and I was totally regretting not bringing a jacket. Especially since I have to walk home pretty much from everywhere.
Halfway there.
The extreme paranoia was creeping it's way back up my spine.
THIRD PERSON
The group was gone but Aurora and the mysterious stranger remained. She let him follow her all the way to her home, where against all her primal instincts of self-preservation, they started making out.
He firmly held her head with his hands and she clung onto him.
She tried to fit a question in between short breaks for breath. "It's strange— you know—I never got your—name." Aurora smiled as he placed a trail of kisses down her warm neck.
"You're right," he smirked. "It's Alec."
Suddenly Aurora's arms were pinned by her sides. She shrieked as he charged his sharpened canines towards her neck.
ADAIR'S POINT OF VIEW
The street lights were flickering. On top of that, there weren't many.
Did I make a wrong turn or something?
Keziah's probably worrying about me. Like has frequently lately, and I guess I don't blame her.
12:10 a.m.
In the far distance I saw someone walking towards me.
Oh, no—not again. Seriously?
They weren't turning away, so I decided to as well. I started walking faster.
I glanced back and they weren't in sight.
I quickly faced ahead of me once again but right then my face hit a hard surface. It was...a chest.
In front of me was a man with messy hair and a curly beard—not at all groomed.
He curled his lips, revealing sharp teeth.
Were those... fangs?
I tried escaping into the opposite direction. Again. But even giving it my all, I was somehow slower than them.
My heart was racing and my vision was blurring.
I'm terrified.
One of his rough hands was all it took to fully grab my neck.
"You are exquisite..." the man purred.
I tried to struggle from his grasp. I couldn't breathe.
Then, my body was pulled toward him, and my head forcefully tilted to the side where a side of my neck was exposed.
"Help!" I wanted to scream, but my voice was so hoarse. I could barely hear myself.
I cringed as hot breath made contact with my neck, and I realized he'd chuckled.
"You don't want to do that," a separate voice warned.
It was recognizable.
