Jason, whom had avoided Arkham Asylum on his way to work, was a whole new man. He was depressed, angry, and any sign of happiness he showed quickly turned to despair. He avoided anyone he can, and didn't care if anyone wanted to talk to him or not. In his office (at least his office was pretty decent), he just worked all day. He didn't answer any messages on his answering machine, he didn't answer any calls, and when his buzzer went off (it goes off when somebody wants to visit your office), he just told whoever buzzed it "Not now, I'm busy." He concentrated on his models for work, and he came into his work way more frequently, now that he had nobody to care for. Besides, it gave him something to do. Something that briefly takes his mind off of his dead family. Briefly. Still, it's better than never taking his mind off of it.

One day, he got another buzz. He asked (he was bored, so he just did it for no reason) who it was. The person who buzzed told him "Stephanie Madison would like to see you". Being used to the "would like to see you", he told the person "Not now, I'm busy."

And then he realized who wanted to see him.
