I'm Halo... and.. well.. I got stuck here. Watching this human. Because of him. Maxamillion.About a week ago, Max came to Heaven.
"Alright, guys! So.. Uhm.. a new guy came today. He is.. very... special? And you need to treat him with up most respect and-" Said an Archangel named Matilda, but she was cut off by the meeting room door slamming open, a dark shadow loomed in the hallway. A black wooden scepter and shoes clacked across the room as the man stepped forward. He stepped into the light, he was wearing a well cleaned tuxedo with a bow-tie and a top hat that covered his face. If his face was visible Halo assumed he'd wear a fancy eye patch. He tossed the scepter to his other hand and pointed the end with a golden horse head carving at Halo. "I'm.." He mumbled darkly, stepping feet away from her, his scepter two inches from her chest.
Suddenly he flipped his top hat up, grinning happily with bright, joyful eyes, "The fabulous Maxamillion! It's great to meet ya!" He announced loudly, holding his scepter out and his arm in the air. "But you can call me Maxy." He winked at her.
Halo blinked slowly as he held out his hand for her to shake. When she took it, he placed both hands on her hand and shook violently up and down.
"Whoa okay, hi there." Said Halo, rubbing her hand when he let go. He took the support out from his scepter holding him up and fell back into a swirly chair, spinning around yelling, "Neigh!" at the long meeting table.
The ten other angels at the meeting slowly sat down when they stopped starring at him and turned back to Matilda. "Ahem.. so anyway.. Halo I'm reassigning you a human because your last human died of elderly age, congratulations, your no-hell human record is amazing. We couldn't do this without you Halo!" Said Matilda proudly, who was once Halo's angel mentor. Everyone clapped softly, a couple people whistled, but Max stood up and clapped loudly, yelling, "Whoo Halo! Yeah! Whoo hoo! Thats my best friend up there! Yeah!!!" Then sat down and simply said 'neigh'. Everyone was silent, one person coughed.Matilda started talking quicker so Max couldn't cut her off again. "So uh Halo pick a new human and-"
And in that moment, Halo's life went down hill..Max was balancing on his scepter when it slipped out from under him and hit the control panel that chose a human. It chose some random child and everything Halo had to know, was gone, down the drain, all thanks to the angel who slipped on a scepter.
Halo would have been furious, but she assumed she could figure it out.
"Heh, sorry Halo.. Let me just.." Said Max, hitting random buttons. As he hit the buttons the screen started to get to a shade of dark red, almost clicking "Kill this human." "MAX NO!" Hissed Halo, grabbing his hand, eyes blazing with a light orange fire. "I- I'm sorry.. I'll assist you.. I'll do all the work! I'm very sorry ma'am.." The seriousness in his voice caused Halo to take a deep breath and let go of his hand.
That brings me back to now. The human chosen by Max was a girl named Luna. She had dark brown hair, braided, a pink shirt, and dark blue jeans. We didn't know much about her so me and Max had to watch her in our true animal forms.
Animal forms are two animals Angels, Demons, and Archangels can shape-shift into, they aren't given a choice of which animal besides Archangels, who can choose whatever two animals they want plus their true animal.
"Max, you should be something.. smaller?" Muttered Halo in her dog form, which was a white German shepherd with a light yellow collar and dark golden patches on her fur, sitting in a bush as Max towered over her in his true animal form, a mule.
"But Halo, I'm fabulous as a mule! I'm sure Luna would love mules!" He whined.
"Oh well, I'd love to know that, but you deleted all the information we had!" Snarled Halo.
Max was quiet for a few moments as Halo watched Luna.
"I'm so bored!" Whined Max, trotting in place.
"Would you stop that? She'll hear you!" Barked Halo quite loudly.
"But Haloooo-" Max stopped in the middle of his sentence as he starred past Halo.
"What?" Asked Halo, turning around. "Oh.." She said, looking at Luna.
Luna slowly backed away, than ran away.
"Great! Great job Mr Maxamus!" Halo spat angrily. "Now we can't use these forms!"
"Oops.." whimpered Max, shrinking back.
"No, not 'oops' Max! This is the second time you've screwed up something for me!"
Max looked taken aback. He gently scratched the ground with his hoof.
"I-I'm sorry.. Halo.." He mumbled sadly.
"No just- stay here." She replied, leaving the bush to follow Luna.
"Okay.." Mumbled Halo, pawing at a locked window outside. "How can I get this open?" She growled slightly, still irritated at Max.
"Need some help?" Asked a voice.
Halo yelped and toppled over, glaring at the mule before her.
"Max! I asked you to stay there!"
Max looked honestly sorry for a moment, but then his face brightened up.
"OH! I get it! I know why you're mad!" He said, grinning.
"You do? Thats great Max because-" Started Halo.
"Because you have a crush on me!" Neighed Max, "But eh, a lot of people have a crush on me so I'd.. heh have to think about it. how do I know a lot of people have a crush on me you say? Well I know because my ex Celia was always mad at me! And she loved me, so that means you love me!" His face had gotten really close to Halos, his eyes sparkling happily.
"Wha..." Mumbled Halo, slowly processing what she just heard.
"I mean I could never be wrong so.. It must be true!" He cheered slightly to much.
Halo erupted more than she really should have..
"No Max! I don't love you, and I won't love you! You keep screwing this up for me! Demons will torment that poor girl and it'll be because of you. Do you really want her to kill herself? And you always goof off! You never listen to me, even when its not important! I asked you to stay there, oh no, you come over here! Is standing ten feet away not good enough for you? and what about last week after you screwed up and chose Luna? Instead of actually trying to help like you promised, you ran around heaven introducing yourself as God and shaking their hands violently instead of learning about true animal forms and how humans can only see us on Christmas as angels, and demons on Halloween as demons not animals!"
"They can't?" Asked Max, tilting his head a little.
"NO!" Yelled Halo, "GO AWAY YOU STUPID MULE!"
Unexpectedly, Max's eyes filled with tears as he quickly trotted away, yelling at Halo, "I'm not a mule!".
Halo felt bad, but her job was more important to her right now than the feelings of the angel who screwed up everything for her. At least her job was easier now, right? Halo took form of a puppy version of her German shepherd, this took more concentration than the German shepherd did, but she didn't go to five years of angel school to not be able to master this, she could definitely do it.
Halo lay down on the road, a car would just pass through her so she didn't need to worry about being killed, she could only have her soul gone from existence if she died on Christmas, when she was in her true angel form.
She tried to mimic a puppy howling in pain, and it seemed to work because Luna unlocked the door and ran over to her.
"A-A puppy?! Are you alright sweetie?" Asked Luna, lifting her up.
Halo whimpered fakely.
"Awh! Baby must be hurt, I'll take you inside with me and check up on you." Said Luna as she made her way back to her house.
"Heh, a puppy? How adorable! I bet that girl would absolutely love having it ripped from her possession and torn to bloody pieces in front of her very eyes! Oh, my job shall be much easier than I thought." Hissed a low voice before it teleported away, as if never even there.
