"I- I'm not a mule!" Cried Max as he cantered down the road, hooves pounding on the ground. He slowly came to a walk then a stop. "I.. I'm not.. I'm a hinny.." He was starring at the road as tears dripped down his equine muzzle in puddles. He transformed back into his human form and threw a rock at the back of Luna's house, muttering to himself.

He saw some girls walking down the road laughing together, it made his feelings twist.

Pushing aside his thoughts and sadness, he summoned a water balloon and climbed onto a tree branch, tossing it in his hand.

The girls walked directly under him and he dropped the water balloon, snickering to himself as they ran away. He was laughing a little too hard at this joke, because he lost his grip on the branch and hit the pavement, which wasn't fully dry from the construction workers and it coated his face in asphalt. Mumbling unreal swear words, he rubbed the liquidy asphalt from his face.

"Whatever." He said, grinning, "It's hard not to be happy! I can always be happy if I try!" He laughed, with a bit of unsureity in it as he transformed into a raven and spread his wings, taking off into the sky. He smiled widely as he started diving down like a hawk. "Ah, I feel better already! Nothing can go wro-" He smacked into a small bird who squeaked as it hit a roof top. "..Oops.." He whinced.

"I better check on Halo, that girl can't spend five minutes without me there, I know she misses me!" He cheered happily, being sure to avoid any further bird accidents as he flew towards Luna's house and perched on a branch outside a window. He could see Halo laying on a rug as a white puppy, obviously enjoying herself infront of the fire.

"Yep! She really misses me!" He grinned, but his smile slightly faded when he saw a bloody squirrel laying on the door step.

"That's.. odd.." He said to no one. "There's something more going on here, two animals don't get injured in one day! Well I guess Halo wasn't actually hurt.. but I will become Sherlock Homes and figure out this mystery!" He said, holding his scepter dramatically towards the sun. He paused for a moment, thinking hard, putting the clues together, he could do this.

"I.. got nothing." He mumbled. "Welp, I'll figure it out after a quick nap.." He said, laying down in the tree and closing his eyes.

A beatiful white horse stood before him, he ran over to her and stared at her eyes, he felt so connected to her yet he didn't know who she was.. Her muzzle touched his in a motherly fashion before disappearing into dust..

Max suddenly woke up and toppled out of the tree, groaning and rubbing his head, "What is with me and falling out of trees today!?"

Max then heard Halo talking to someone inside of Lunas house and trotted over to it, but instead of calmly opening the door Max burst through the window.

A demon was standing there yelling at the angel, weapons drawn.

He ran over to Halo yelling things of cornern to her and worry, nuzzling her but she pushed him away.

"Is that Maxi!?" Asked the demon, grinning.

Max paused midsentance and returned to his human form, looking over at the demon.

"Maxi! It is you! I guess that explains the presence following me. You know? There were rumors when you left, someone said you where 'fired' and your soul was in eternal suffering. Others said you somehow became mortal. But.." The laugh the demon, Max now reconized as Gem, terrified him.

Gem then took his scepter and leaned against it, balancing and starring into his eyes, grinning. "Who woulda thought you'd turn on your own kind? Become one of.. them?"

"Look!" Halo Interupted, looking quite angry. "I don't know how you two know each other, but I'd appericiate it for you to leave."

Max slowly backed up, and leapt out the window once more.
