Halo looked over at the window then back at the demon infront of her.
"Not that I care.. but you got a name?" Asked the demon.
"Halo." Scoffed Halo unjoyfully.
"I'm Gem. Now, why are you here? This is my human." Growled Gem slightly.
"She's my assignment and she's going to Heaven!" Said Halo at a slight shout, "So just scram."
"My job is not to 'scram', Angel." Replied Gem, looking quite unamused, "But it is late so I'm going back to Hell for the night, dear." And with that she teleported away.
Halo groaned in annoyance.
Max walked down the road, now back in human form, invisible to humans because angels and demons could only show themselves on their respected holidays, Angels on Christmas and sometimes Easter, Demons on Halloween, and both on New Years.
It was late, around Midnight, but he couldn't return to Heaven, Halo was most likely still angry. As he walked he came across a large farm, he must of gone some ways out of town because farms are rarely seen near said town. Surrounding the town was a large horse paddock with a couple trees, and standing in the shadows eating grass was the brightest and prettiest horse he'd ever seen, everything about her struck confusing nostalgism to his soul and it ached in loneliness.
She looked like she was divided between light and dark, her top half was white and her bottom half was a deep black.
Full of need to meet this horse he switched to a mule and leapt over the fence, trotting acros the field joyfully and heading towards her as she glowed in the moonlight.
He thought hard as he crossed over, he could greet her by saying "Hey baby!" Or maybe, "Whats up good lookin'?" or even- then he smacked right into hr side and she then him both reared up and neighed in panic.
"O-Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" He said fearfully, "Are you okay!? Oh my gosh!"
The horse shook her entire body and smiled forgivingly, "It's okay deary, welcome to my paddock, I'm Anzeka, it means pure, you can call me Annie, I only let my closest friends call me that.." Her grinned widened and Max blushed.
"Heh.. eh I- heh.." He was incapable of forming words.
"You're adorable." Giggled the horse, stepping closer so their muzzles where inches apart. "Sweetie?" She asked softly.
"Y-yes..?" Asked Max, awestruck.
"Whats your name?" She smiled.
"M-maxamillion.. the great.." Said Max boldly.
Her grin got wider than Max even thought it could.
"I like that." She stepped back and layed down, looking up at the sky and stars.
Max followed as if drawn to, sitting down beside her.
"Max! Max where are you?" Yelled a voice, Halo's.
"Oh no.." whimpered Max, "I have to go.."
Annie frowned. "Oh. Well. How about you come back tomorrow? There's gonna be a beatiful meteor shower. It'll be like.. a date!" Her smile returned as Max got giddy.
"Of course!" He almost screamed, "Bye bye!" He said, trotting away towards Halos voice joyfully.
Halo was walking down the road, was Max alright? She hadn't seen him since he ran off.
Then he came running down the street, still in mule form.
"Max!" She said, Max was afraid he'd hit her, people usually did that when they got angry at him, but instead she hugged him, sobbng softly, "I was so worried!"
