He looked up just as the teacher instructed, "Please get into your groups. You'll have five minutes and then I'll assign your research topics."

His deep irises like solar eclipses were kept on one particular girl in the front, though his gaze was interrupted by the call of his two friends. When he looked back to where the girl was, he was disappointed to see her being waved over by another boy and her standing up and making her way to him.

"Hey! Could I be in your group, Giovanni?" A female voice beckoned to one of the guys in his group.

"Yeah, sure." He responded lightly.

She smiled and even chuckled a little. Then, he could have sworn he saw this girl glance at him for a moment too long before starting conversation.

"Okay, so we need to form another group." The teacher suddenly announced. "Do we have any volunteers to leave their group? Or do I need to play the bad guy?"

The class remained silent. Though, if she had raised her hand to switch groups, he would have followed suit immediately.

"Well..." The teacher trailed off in thought, looking across the room. He then made his way over to a group, consisting of three boys and one girl.

"Pick a number between one and five." The teacher told the student who had called away the girl his eyes chased after.

"Four." He chose respectively.

"You get to stay. Pick a number." He pointed to the girl.

"Um.. six."

The class burst into laughter. "Between one and five?" The teacher teased. Her lips cracked into a smile as her cheeks were coated in embarrassment.

"Two."

He went and asked the other two members, and the results came, "You're out." He directed to the female. "Now, who else has a group of four?"

The girl looked disappointed and looked back to the group she was almost a part of. Her focus went to the next lotteries that would determine her other group members.

After the decision, he realized her couldn't keep his eyes on her for much longer or else it'd be too obvious how eager he was to be with her. His own gaze went to the next unfortunate group the teacher decided to pull a student from.

He had lost his chance to raise his hand to volunteer the moment the teacher told a group under his breath, "I'll just keep it a group of girls."
