Savannah's POV

I'm so scared. Where the hell are they?! If they DID walk to the café, they should be back by now! This is crazy, the police aren't even sending a search party! I walk up to Ash, placing my hand on his shoulder. He turns to look at me, and by the look on his face, he's in the same state as I am. "This is crazy!" I say. His face stiffens. "We have to do something."

Rue's POV

Bang
We freeze. We look behind us, and my heart skips a beat. The doors of the Mansion are wide open.
We don't even speak, we just run. Charlie grabs my arm and pulls me to a particularly tall tree. We climb. We climb high, as high as we can without getting to high into the thin branches. I hear the howl of a dog, and my breath hitches in my throat. I hear it again. Its not like any dog I've ever heard, its different... I can't explain it, but it is. I shake with fear, and through the silence-silent besides the sound of the large beast like dog I can now see noisily snuffling the ground-I can hear three pairs of heavy footsteps. Through the leaves I can now also see three tall figures. The boy with the mouthguard, who if I remember correctly was called Toby, The boy with the white mask who was called Masky, and the boy in the orange hoodie, who's name I don't know. Charlie and I look at each other fearfully. Charlie looks behind her to a tree branch from the tree beside the one we are perched in. She grabs the branch, and shakes it a little, apparently testing its stability. "If we can climb to the next tree we might be able to escape." She whispers. I nod, its worth a fucking shot. She goes first, standing on the branch, and using smaller branches around her to keep balanced as she walks to the other tree, wobbling every so often. Its my turn. Nervously, I pull myself up onto the branch, and start walking. Its hard enough trying to walk along a thin branch fifty feet above the ground, but its more difficult when the branch has uneven spots, twists and bumps, and slippery wet patches from the cold, damp air, and you have adrenaline pumping through your body, causing you to shake uncontrollably and your vision to distort and blur. About twice I honestly thought I was going to fall, but I step carefully into the crook of two forked branches, and lean agains the base of the tree, holding onto a thin branch for support. "Okay, now what?" I ask, staring hopefully at Charlie. She has her thinking face on, and shes staring down the tree. "We'll climb down the tree a bit, climb to the next tree, climb down a bit, and keep doing that until we get to the ground. That dog thing won't be able to track us if were not on the ground." She says shakily and with tears in her eyes, staring at me. I nod. "Works for me." I reply, my shaking voice barely above a whisper. Thats exactly what we do. I can still hear the dog a while back, but I can tell its having a hard time pin pointing our position. Were about eight feet off the ground. "I think its time to jump." I say. Charlie nods. "We run." We both jump, and for a second I'm jarred by the drop. But as soon as we hit the ground, the whole atmosphere changes. I don't know how to explain it, but its like time stood still. Everything is silent. Charlie and I stand there frozen, and slowly look at each other. Something wasn't right. Slowly, so quietly that I have no idea when it started or how long its been going for, I can hear the faintest static, so quiet I can't quite tell if its real or if I'm imagining things. It slowly, so slowly, gets louder. It rings through my head, and around my body all throughout the forest, and small, staticky feelings run through my body like pins and needles. Charlie and I are still frozen, unable to process whats happening, to confused to move. The sun is starting to set again.
Damn, how long were trapped in there?
Suddenly, the worst headache I've ever felt pounds through my head, and it takes all my will power not to scream in fear and pain. Whispers, whispers filling my mind, increasing in volume. I crumple to the floor in pain, getting lost in the horrible pain and fear, the whole thing driving me mad. I can feel something wet in my ears. Hot, thick, sticky blood rises in my throat, and spills onto the ground in front of me. Suddenly, a loud, piercing scream rings through the air. And it doesn't belong to either of us. Thats enough to bring both of us to our senses, and we both sprint the fastest I've ever run, back to the mansion, the farther we run, the static, the pins and needles, and the headache gradually disappear, until theres nothing left then a faint buzzing noise, and then nothing. Still, we keep running, I'm to horrified and confused to cry, but apparently Charlie isn't. After what feels like hours of running, we can finally see the road through the trees. We run out onto it, and immediately begin searching for our bags our attackers had thrown to the side after abducting us.
We find them, after a few minutes of searching up the road. We check them. To my relief, everything is still in them. We start running again, wanting to get home as soon as possible. Soon, we can see my mansion. Tears begin to stream down my face, and by the time we reach the front doors I'm sobbing uncontrollably. My hands fumble with one of the door knobs, and when I finally throw it open, we nearly crash right into Savannah, Ruth and Ash. Both of the girls start to cry to, Ash brings us both into a hug, and Matt runs down the stairs, and pulls first Charlie and then I into a hug. Everything's a little bit dramatic for a few minutes until everybody calms down. Looking in the mirror, I'm so shocked by my appearance I can barely believe it's me. My red hair is ratted and messy, black makeup is smudge all over my face, blood is caked around my ears and mouth, my eyes are bloodshot and twice their normal size. We tell them what happened, everything not leaving anything out. When we finish, Matt's face is pale, Ash, surprisingly, still has his resting pokerface, but something in his eyes has changed, and the other two look so scared and vulnerable. Damien-who probably got here sometime in the middle of the commotion, I don't know when-reaches his hand forward and uses his thumb to wipe what I assume is blood off my chin.
Both Ruth and I's phones go off at the same time, and we both go to check them. As I read the text, a horrible sickening feeling settles into my stomach, making me feel the urge to throw up. Its from EJ, who else would it be from?where are you?
