Cassie's POV

Carl picks me up bridal style as I squeal with laughter,"Whoa! Carl!" I exclaim, as he sits me down on the floor against the wall. He sits down next to me. Daryl set up a fire in the center of the room, I don't know how it doesn't set fire to the building, but I'll just say this, the mans' got skills. I lay my head on Carl's shoulder as he puts his arm around me. All of a sudden thunder booms, and lightning lights up the sky. The minute I hear the thunder I flinch. Carl takes my hand and whispers,"It's ok, I'm right here, and I'm not going anywhere." I feel so safer around him. No more spending the night in a tree, or starving, or feeling like not another living soul cares about me. I feel..like he loves me. I'm taken away from my thoughts from Carl,"Cassie, why don't you sing for us?" I stare at him wide eyed,"Uh, yeah I umm don't sing." I say as I look around the room, everyone is staring at me again. "Please?" Carl says, giving me the puppy dog face."Ok, ok. How about 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri?" I ask. Carl gives my hand a squeeze, and I begin the song.

That's it, the songs over, and everyone is staring at me, there eyes locked on me, during the song I was crying, I just couldn't hold it in. I bury my face in Carl's shirt as he hugs me,"You were amazing." he says. "Your just saying that so I don't feel bad." he lifts my chin up,"I promise you that I mean that, I love the way you sing Cassie, I really do."
