Chapter 16-
-Ian’s P.O.V-
I don’t remember much but I remember driving with Chelsea, I was looking at the road, I had the light when suddenly. I remember hearing the sound of glass shattering and then, darkness.
I woke up on a hospital bed, a white light glaring in my face. I felt sore, and I had a killer headache. I raised my right hand to feel my forehead which had two band-aids on it. My left arm was alittle cut up and bruised. I looked over to the side to see Brian asleep on the chair next to my bed.
I sat up slowly. “Ow..shit” I hissed. My body hurt like hell, I was confused and scared. “Brian!” I tried to call him, he only snored. “Brian, wake up” I tried again, nothing. “YO dude wake the fuck up” I raised my voice once more and he jolted awake.
"Huh? wha- thank god you’re awake holy shit!" Brian got up and hugged me too tight. "Ow thanks Brian, uh it hurts though". He took a small step back, "oh, sorry.."
"What happened last night? and where’s Chels? is she okay?" I asked, I looked around the small white room, empty. I was stil in my clothes from last night, my shirt however, was gone. My chest covered in various small cuts.
"You got into a car crash, or rather, a car sped into you while you had the light. Chelsea’s in the next room, sleeping. The doctor said you guys will be okay after a couple of days of rest. Chels is really banged up though…" He said quietly.
"What! I gotta go see her" I threw my legs over the side of the bed but Brian only blocked my way. "Whoa slow down, you need to rest too. You can see her in a few, just not when you’re in so much pain. At least eat something first before running off."
I sat back slowly, wincing in pain. “Alright, can you get the nurse to bring me food?” I said in defeat, feeling an empty pit in my stomach, both nervous and hungry. Brian smiled, “no need, I already brought you some pizza, start you off on some easy food.” I chuckled as he swung the table in front of me with a brown bag on top of it.
I tore the bag open to see a delicious slice of pizza, I hungrily took a bite, “ugh, so good”. I mumbled in between bites.
"Here" Brian gave me a young lions tank top which I slipped on.I took a sip a bottled water when Olivia walked threw the door.
"Oh my god Ian" she gasped and wrapped her arms around me.
"Are you okay?" She whispered sweetly.
"yea, just fine, can you let go…still sore". I huffed out. "sorry", she squeaked out. "What happened?" she asked worriedly, "Uhm, sorta got into a car crash…Is it totaled?" I turned to Brian.
"No, the front doors and hood need to be replaced, but the car isn’t totally gone, gonna need a lot of work though." I nodded.
Olivia hugged me again. She was warm and smelled of sweet vanilla. I hugged her petite frame, I relaxed under her touch, I let go and laid back in my bed and took another swig of water.
"I’m glad you’re okay babe", Olivia gave a small smile and that’s when it clicked, Chelsea in the next room, Chelsea, my girlfriend..not Olivia.
"So, where’s your supposed girlfriend? I don’t see her here.." She looked around the room.
I glared at her, Olivia may not like Chelsea, but she was hurt too. “Actually, she’s in the next room sleeping. I have to go see her. Thanks for coming though. I’ll..see you later.” I quickly said, not wanting to hear her talk about Chelsea like that anymore.
I slowly got up, with the help of Brian at my side.
A frown appeared almost instantly, clearly not liking the fact I was pushing her away so I can see my current girlfriend, but I didn’t care. She turned on her heels walking away with anger.
Brian held me at my side, helping me walk out of the room. I was lucky I could still walk, it just felt really sore all over. A few feet away was Chelsea’s room. Room 515.
I walked into the single room and there she was, her face with some minor cuts and bruises on her head. Her arm also bared bruises and cuts, but her right arm was in a cast. I stood there in shock.
"You okay?" Brian whispered. I nodded slowly.
Samantha was in sweats and a t-shirt, also asleep on a chair next to Chelsea’s bed. Sitting on the second chair was Justin. He shifted in his seat and sat up rubbing his eyes, and looking up at me and Brian.
Justin got up and walked towards me. He looked at Chelsea then returned to me, “can we talk outside?” I nodded, and headed outside with Justin and Brian.
"What happened last night?" Justin looked straight into my eyes, crossing his arms. "A car accident, I don’t remember much, but I do know I had the light. and then I woke up here..how is she?" My attention turning to Chelsea.
"She’s..okay, clearly hurt, she’s been sleeping for a while" He took a long pause, looking down the hallway. "..you could’ve killed her", his eyes were cold.
"I..it wasn’t my fault, some idiot ran through the light, don’t try to put the blame on me" I wasn’t gonna let him blame me for this…but maybe I should’ve looked around to make sure it was safe.
He sighed deeply and gazed back into the room, heading back in. I followed behind, slowly.
I stood by the side of her bed. looking over her body, measuring the severity of each visible cut and bruise. Her breathing even, she was injured a lot more than me. We’re lucky we’re both alive.
I took her hand, stroking it gently with my thumb, taking note of the small scratches on her hands. I stroked her hair soothingly, leaning down to kiss her forehead.
"You’re gonna be okay babygirl", I closed my eyes with my forehead against hers. She grabbed my hand, and opened her eyes. A beautiful smile instantly spread across her face.
"Ian" She whispered. I smiled, kissing her lips gently, backing away a little, "Hey", she looked at Brian who stood next to me, also smiling with relief. She turned her head to see Samantha just waking up and Justin watching closely.
"Hey, how you feel?", Samantha asked. Chelsea began to sit up but grimaced in pain. I helped her sit up right, fixing the pillow behind her. "Thanks Ian", she flashed a quick smile before returning back to Samantha.
"I feel okay, really sore though", she looked down at her cast and frowned, covering her face with her left hand. "What’s wrong?" I asked.
"huh? I just uh…nothing, it’s nothing, just confused.." She spoke quietly. "It’s okay, we’re okay." I cooed. Her hand reached up to the band-aids on my forehead, realizing I also suffered some minor cuts too.
"What about you? you okay?" She questioned. "Me? I’m just a little sore as well". I sat next to her on her bed.
Just then a nurse walked in with her charts. She was short and black with a colorful outfit.
"Oh, glad you are all awake. now Mr. Eastwood. I suggest you rest for about 2-4 weeks, same for you ms. Cortez. You guys are very lucky to walk away from this crash. And Ms. Cortez, you should come back in 2 weeks to check on it, its gonna be on for about 3 weeks, alright? and with that, you guys are free to go."
Chelsea and I signed our release forms and started to head out.
