“Dad?” I answered my phone.
After 400 years, at last, I was able to talk to him.
“I heard, it’s your semestral break now,” Dad asked. “Would you like to have your vacation here?”
I freeze. What? Seriously?
I mean, finally, Dad offered me a vacation in States.
I told Mom about Dad’s proposal. Fortunately, she agreed and I’m going there as soon as possible; most probably, next week. At last, after 400 years, I can see him now!
The next morning, Mom told me to prepare my stuffs. My flight will be tonight.
I’m shocked; but of course, more excited to see Dad.
Throughout the morning, Vanessa helped me packed my things. I gave her a piece of paper and told her to list everything she wants when I go back.
She also asked me if I already informed Jeron and Ahia about this. Well honestly, I forgot. I’ll just tell them as I arrived.
In the evening, I find myself already at the airport, waiting for my watch to tick at 8pm; unfortunately, it was only 7pm.
I heard a familiar voice from my back.
“Rogue! You never told us about this.” I looked from behind and saw Ahia and Jeron standing there.
I was surprised.
Ahia hugged me tight and at that very moment, he reprimanded me. I told him that the flight was a rush and that I thought it’ll be next week. I also assured him that I’m just going to see my dad there for a couple of weeks and I’ll be home immediately since I need to enroll for the second semester.
Ahia then pointed to Jeron whose back was turned from us, talking to Vanessa.
“Jay,” I called him as Vanessa immediately went back to her seat with Ahia. “Don’t be so childish,”
“So I’m being childish, huh?” Jeron seemed doesn’t get my point. “What about you? Not telling us about this? You’re the one being…”
Jeron started the homily and continued to reprimand me. I don’t know but it felt so good hearing and seeing him in that way.
I just smiled watching him.
“What?” Jeron noticed everyone looking at him.
“You’re over reacting Shoti,” Ahia said.
Jeron seemed realized it and glanced to me.
“Whatever,” He concluded.
“Ow,” I gave him a power hug. “I’m sorry, ok?” I said without backing off.
He gave me his coat and kissed my forehead. Again, I was surprised.
“Come back ok? You have to give that back to me immediately,” He said to me smiling.
After a while, Tita Susan with Tito Alvin also arrived. Tita gave me some of my Dad’s favorites.
The flight attendant then announced my code. It’s time for me to go. I gave Mom and Vanessa my good bye kiss. I get my things and immediately went inside without looking back to them.
“The heck! Why am I even crying? Fudge!” I told myself.
While inside the plane, my phone vibrates, Jeron texted me. “Take care.”
