“Previous injury?” I wondered.
“Hindi mo alam?” Sarah asked. “He got a car accident just last April.”
“April? You mean ngayong April lang?” I clarified.
“Wow Snowy, hindi mo alam yun?” Alex teased me. “Nahuhuli ka na ngayon sa balita pagdating sa Baby mo.” I just make a fake smile.
I took my phone and text Vanessa.
“Did you know about Jeron getting into a car accident last April? -Ling”
Then, I focused on the TV again. He's indeed hurt. Ahia and Tito Alvin immediately get into Jeron and carried him papunta sa bench. Namimilipit sya sa sakit. Oh God! It's like I'm feeling it. The way how he reacted seems like it was really painful. Immediately, dinala na sya sa loob and he game continues. Then my phone rings. It was Vanessa. I excused myself and answer the phone.
Me: Hello. Hey, did you heard anything about Jeron's car accident?
Vanessa: Ling, ano, ahm...
Me: Oh God, Don't tell me...
Vanessa: I'm sorry. I'm sorry sis.
Me: Why didn't you tell me?
Vanessa: Kasi nga diba, you want to move on. So bakit ko sasabihin?
Me: Tsk. So kung hindi pa pala ako nanuod ng opening hindi ko pa malalaman.
Vanessa: Nanunuod ka?
Me: Siguro kakasabi ko lang?
Vanessa: Ibig sabihin nakita mo yung injury nya ngayon?
Me: Of course, nanunuod nga ako. Teka, don't tell me nanunuod ka rin?
Vanessa: Actually nasa dugout kami ni Tita ngayon, kasama sila Tita Susan kasi dinala
nga dito si Kuya Jeron.
Me: So how is he?
Vanessa: Not good.
Me: And?
Vanessa: May konting dislocation.
Me: Dislocation? Tapos konti?
Vanessa: Pasensya. Sinabi ko lang naman yun para hindi ganon ka lakas ang impact.
Baka malaglag ang puso mo.
Me: Shut up.
Then I heard Mom's voice: “Sino yan?”
Me: Hey, don't tell her na ako ito.
Vanessa replied: “Ano po, classmate ko, may tinatanong lang tungkol sa presentation sa Monday.”
Vanessa: Sige na sis, I'll just inform you from time to time.
Me: Siguraduhin mo lang Vanessa. At kaylangan mo pang magpaliwanag sa akin tungkol
sa car accident ni Jeron.
As I ended the call, I saw Vincent staring at me. I was surprised.
“Kanina ka pa jan?” I asked. He nod. “So, narinig mo?”
“Yes.” Vincent answered.
“Can you keep it as a secret?” I asked.
“Why?” He wants to know. “Don't tell me sya yung tinutukoy mo before.” I nod.
“But promise me, you won't tell anybody.” I insisted.
“But Snowy...”
“Vincent,”
