Amilyn's P.O.V
(The night when they both had to get back home, a few minutes after the news was shown.)
I ran back home as fast as I could. I knocked on the door.
A lady came out of the door. "Mom?" I asked. Wanting to see if she'll accept me.
"Y...you. Why are you here? Why are you back here?!" she yelled.
"Mom...please...can we talk at least?" I calmly said. My dad's an officer. Mom's a businesswoman. And I'm here, a failure. A failure turned into a monster. I don't understand why I'm at home. I don't understand why I'm still accepted here.
"Sure...f-fine... c-come in..." she stuttered out.
"I... I'll stay in my room." I said then ran upstairs, just at normal speed. I grabbed my headphones and blasted my music to full volume. I looked out my window. My window showed only the empty street. But, something was odd.
"Dear, are you hungry?" my mom yelled out from downstairs. Just because my music is at full volume, doesn't mean I can't hear her.
"No thanks! I'm not that hungry." I said yelling as well. Looking back out at the street. I eyed the streetlight, and noticed a silhouette. I felt as if it was staring at me. Not much people lived at our street. So, if it was something I have to worry about. Not many people would know. I looked away and walked over to my drawer. I found some gloves in one of the drawers, I grabbed it and put it on. I removed my headphones, and left it on my bed.
I ran downstairs and yelled out "I'll be out for a while!" letting my mom know that I'll be out. No reply was heard, so I left anyway. I ran to where I last saw the silhouette. It's staring at me. Then, it started to run to the forest. I ran at it, with the super speed, and ended up tackling it down. I stood up, and looked who it was. To my surprise. It was just wood.
I was left confused, until I was hit from behind. I fell forward, face first to the ground. Looking back, I saw someone in a coat. Once I got back up to my feet, I summoned flames on my hand. "Who are you? What do you want? Why are you here?" I immediately questioned the man.
He remained calm and quiet. Suddenly, he cloned himself. 'Another one like me?' I thought to myself. He kept cloning himself until he had me surrounded.
"The boss will be happy..." his cold voice said, sending a chill down my spine. I couldn't tell who was the real one. I decided to turn invisible, and I did, along with the flames on my hands.
I expected him to look confused, I used my enhanced speed to run last the clones. I ran around all the clones, throwing balls of fire at each one. One by one they faded. Once they all disappeared. I stopped, confused. 'Where did he go?' I thought. Unexpectedly, someone sped past me. 'A speedster like me?' I turned visible. I was punched in the gut. I remained in place, trying to ignore the pain.
"Didn't see that coming?" he grinned as he stopped in front of me.
"Bastard." I muttered under my breath and summoned more flames.
"Flame user. Invisibility. And enhanced agility." he said, sounding amused. "What else do you got, little girl? My boss will be happy to know what you use." he said grinning, his voice still strongly sending chills down my spine.
"Bastard." I muttered again. And ran at him, with the super speed of course. I decided to stop a few feet in front of him. "Go die. It would please me a lot..." I said then ran at him, hands covered in flames. "You won't get out of here unharmed, or alive. Not when you know what powers I have..." I ran around him, trying to create a tornado around him, with flames. I failed and ended up hitting a tree. I groaned in pain.
He just laughed at me. "Little girl can't do what she wants? Hilarious." he grinned then ran at me. Hitting me multiple times, in different directions. I coughed out a bit of blood. "Stupid arsehole" I muttered. I fully ignited myself in flames. Like the 'Human Torch'...
"I'll kill you..." I said, growling. I started running, predicting where he's gonna stop. I looked at a nearby tree, ran at it, then unexpectedly punched him with a flaming fist. I stopped to look around. He was on the ground. I slowly approached him, wishing he's almost dead. Or dead, dead would be fine too.
He looked dead. I tried to feel his pulse. There was none. I took of his coat and tried to see if there was anything useful in the pockets. A phone. An iPhone to be more precise. I clicked it open and swiped the screen. No password. "Real smart." I muttered. Nothing needed in the notes. But there is a code. Sadly, I couldn't decipher it. I decided to close the phone and keep it for now. Hoping no one saw what happened. I rushed back home. I stopped to look at myself to make sure I have no blood on me. Or anywhere. I decided to just sneak in my room, since the light to the room of my parent's is closed.
The minute I got in, someone was sitting there. It was my dad.
