Amilyn's P.O.V

(Morning)

I might have fallen asleep late. But I was the first to wake up. I had a pen in my pocket which was both odd and not. I was able to find paper and wrote down a note that I went out to buy food. I left the note nearby Jeremiah. I had extra money, but I had to run back home and get the rest of my savings.

I looked at one of the old arcade games. I concentrated and used my reality warping power to change my facial feature. Which worked. I looked like a completely different person. This won't last long. Time to run.

I ran all the way back home and snuck in the window. I quickly searched and grab all my savings. Someone suddenly knocked on the door. Weird. And an even weirder timing. I waved off the illusion on my face and went to open the door. It was dad.

"Uh, hey dad?" I said. He just smiled.

"Hey champ." he said, he used to call me that a lot. Cliché; but it made me feel special in a way. "Didn't see you come home yesterday. Where'd ya run off to? I heard what happened to the school. Glad to see you alright and sorry for trying to shoot you." he apologized.

I smiled. "It's fine dad. And I just went somewhere. Sorry I didn't tell you or mom. I'll, uh, be out for a few days. It's a camping trip with friends. I just came here to get some extra money in case."

He seemed shocked. "Good to see you've made friends, "Ashes"." He said and smiled widely.

"So that's what you're gonna call me now? Cause I can burn things?" I said, and chuckled a little. Then sudden moment of realization hit me. "You're... not going to arrest me right?"

He smiled a little. "Of course I won't. You're my kid after all." he said quietly.

"Thanks, dad. I need to go. Don't tell mom I passed by." I said and smiled at him. "Go. I'm just gonna get my things then leave."

He nodded and left. I grabbed the duffel bag and the suitcase-like bag from underneath my bed, I also grabbed the remaining amount of whiskey I had and left it in the duffel bag. I made sure not to damage any of the materials I had inside the bag. I held on to it tightly and ran back to Fun Trove. I wrote another note saying that no one should touch it.

I checked how much I had, it was a good thing I had enough. I changed how I looked again by using the illusion power I have. I ran to the nearest convenience store and casually walked inside and got chips and a few bottles of soda. I paid the lady at the counter and thanked her. Good thing the illusion was still clear.

I ran back again to the Fun Trove to see a few people up already, mainly Rae, Ross, and Brin. "Morning guys." I said and placed the food in the middle of the room.

"Josh said not to leave." Ross said.

"Dad might be a cop. Glad he didn't arrest me. I had to grab everything I need and I bought food since I had enough." I said to him.

After a while, everyone else woke up.

Josh seemed to be angry. "What's wrong with you?" I asked him. "And if you wanted to know. I went to buy the food. No one recognized me. So don't complain."

He shut his mouth. I sighed, I ate some chips and took a few sips of Coca Cola. I stood up and grabbed the suitcase like bag and the duffel bag and ran to a more quiet and secluded area of the arcade.
