We had my Dad's funeral, I remember the when they slowly bury the coffin into the ground. I said my last prayers, and hope for the best. I also remember someone, someone who I've never seen before. She was wearing all red, a long trench coat and an oval long hat with a single feather on top of it. I couldn't see her face, because the hat mostly cover up half of her face. By the end of the day, I couldn't find out who she was.
Later around late August, I was surprised by an unusual visitor, Arthur. Ever since the day my father died, he suddenly disappear. The last words he told me was, "I need to go and check on something." And ever since then I didn't saw him.
Now and days, the mansion was always quiet. The only thing you could hear was the howling of the wind from outside. Rose would usually do chorus, but she hardly does any, for there's no one to make a mess. I would always stay in my room, I do nothing at all. To be honest I was really bored.
When Rose opened the door for Arthur, a warm feeling rushes through my chest. My cheeks felt really warm. I was really excited and happy that Arthur came. I felt like a little girl, getting a huge rainbow swirl lollipop from the candy store.
I then quickly realized this, shake my head, and headed towards the door. Rose offered Arthur to come in.
"Well, well look who finally showed up." I said. "It's been a while, Arthur. Where have you been all this time?"
"It surely been a while, Mary." He said giving a gentle smile. I then felt my heart skip a beat.
He then stood next to me, and gentle pat my head. He then smile at me.
"Too bad you didn't grow that much, in fact you're still the same." He smirk.
He didn't change at all. Somehow something died inside me.
"I can see you're still the same, as ever." I said then sigh. "So, out of all places you could had gone to, why did you came here?"
"I'll make tea!" Rose said smiling as she rushes into the kitchen.
Arthur sigh. He walked towards to a cushion chair and sat there. I did the same.
It was silent for a few minutes. He was crossing his arms as he sat on the chair. I could tell he was thinking, because he was staring straight at me. I couldn't tell what was going on in his mind. It made me very nervous, I started to feel lightheaded. I was beginning to be swallow up to his eyes. Just then he spoke.
"I-" He murmured, just right when Rose came and with a tray with a tea kettle and two tea cups, with many little blue flowers designs on them.
Rose put the tray down on the small table between me and Arthur. She grab one of the tea cups and put it aside on Arthur's side. She then pour in some tea.
"Thank you." Arthur said. Rose then smiled and grab the other tea cup for me.
"Thank you, Rose." I said. She smiled and stood right next to me holding the tray.
Then again the silence came back.
I then was really irritated by this silence, so I haded to say something. "Arthur you haven't told me why you came here?" I said to break the silence. Arthur then looked at me.
"That's right." He said. "I- Well, I like to visit one of my old friends. She might be able to help us."
"Really?" I said.
"Well, not exactly, but it's still worth a try." He then stood up. "Okay then, we'll leave now."
"Huh? You mean, like, right now?" I hesitate.
