Chapter 15:

School slowly got back into a routine after my fight with Aaron; he and I sort of just stayed out of each other's way. Even though we did see each other first period and throughout the day we never spoke to each other.

Winter break came too quickly for me and I knew the long awaited moment was here when the last day of school showed up before break started. Holly and Kelsey knew a lot about my dad and how he wasn't really a nice person so both of them felt bad for me.

I was over at Holly's housethat last day before break started and three days before I was supposed to leave for my dad's. I'd never actually been inside of Holly's house besides that one time I was drunk and even then I wasn't sure what it exactly looked like.

Holly's dad wasn't home so I couldn't meet him and Holly told me that he probably wouldn't be home until late that night.

We hung out in Holly's backyard for a little while on the trampoline she had. We bounced around and talked about random stuff that wasn't important, it just made us laugh and seem ridiculous.

"So when do you leave for your dad's again?" Holly asked, her arms and legs spread out as she layed in the middle of the trampoline.

"Monday," I sighed and sat down near the edge of the trampoline and shut my eyes. The sun was just going down over the roof of Holly's house and was right in my eyes.

Holly groaned and rolled onto her side to face me, "I don't want you to leave," she pouted and rested her head on her hand.

"I don't want to leave either," I wasn't really all that worried about my dad but more worried about Lily. Since I hadn't heard or spoken to her since I'd moved I wasn't sure if I would see her or not, though I knew she lived just down the street from my dad and I was bound to pass by her once in awhile.

Holly sighed and sat up, "Want to go get something to drink?"

"Sure," I replied, rolled off of the trampoline and waited for Holly to follow me. My brain was clouded with the idea of seeing Lily again and not knowing exactly what to do if I did. Holly kept popping up in my brain even though I knew the likeliness of her and I was as likely as if I met the president of the United States.

We both headed into the kitchen and grabbed bottles of water from the fridge before heading up to Holly's bedroom.

We hung out up there for a couple of hours, surfing the Internet and talking non-stop to each other. Hours passed and I didn't realize it was ten o'clock at night until I got a phone call from Chris asking where I was.

"Crap, I gotta leave, Holly." I said after hanging up with Chris.

"Okay. I can walk you out." She rolled off of her bed slowly and lazily, groaning as she did. "I hate having to move."

I chuckled and waited for her in the door frame of her room. Slowly she made her way towards me, her hair in disarray, I softly patted the top of her head and smiled at her. I really couldn't believe how adorable she was.

We walked down the stairs and I grabbed my messenger bag for school. Suddenly the door was unlocked and in walked a tall, disheveled man dressed in a messy suit with his hair all over the place. I didn't realize how huge he actually was until he stepped into the light and I saw the rock hard muscles on his arms.

His face was dark and rugged with a 5 o'clock shadow and small eyes. He stumbled when he walked in, followed by the strong scent of alcohol. Yeah, I'd seen it enough times on my own father to know that Holly's dad was unfit to even be walking down the hallway let alone driving home and taking care of his teenage daughter.
