Ginny picked at her food, her stomach churning as she thought over her dream. Katrin in a dark room, alone, freezing. But there was no way to know where the girl was.
Classes were cancelled today, and it had taken some serious arguing (and threats) for Ginny to even be allowed to come down for breakfast. And even then, she had Harry sitting as close as possible to her, then Fred and George on either side of them, Ron in front of her. Hermione was even there as a part of her entourage, sitting closely to Ron.
Ginny found all of this appalling, especially since Katrin was out there with no one to protect or help her. It made Ginny's blood boil that because of the Bond she was being protected more than the students. Dumbledore practically told her she was more important.
Usually girls would love that, being told by an adult that they were the top priority, but Ginny absolutely hated it. Especially when there was someone missing.
After a while, she started to get tired of the close proximity to pretty much everyone in her family and stood. Harry, Ron, Fred and George all stood quickly, glancing around. Ginny groaned out of exasperation.
"Guys, I'm going to the loo," She snapped, "And I'd appreciate it if you stayed put and not follow." All the boys turned embarrassed and sat. Hermione looked into Ginny's eyes with her own narrowed ones.
"Y'know what, I have to go too." And she stood, ignoring Ron's displeased grunt. Ginny's mouth formed a thin line, and she followed the girl out of the hall.
After a few moments of walking, Ginny finally spoke up. "I wasn't going to do anything stupid, y'know. Just get some fresh air." Hermione turned her head to stare at her.
"Does the 'fresh air' you're talking about refer to the Forbidden Forest?" Ginny's ears felt hot.
"No..." She muttered, and Hermione laughed, smiling at her friend.
"Ginny, you're just like Harry now. This Bond thing has clouded your sense of judgment," Ginny frowned at the slight sting in the girl's words, "How are you going to help find the Boyle girl?"
Ginny made to reply, but realized she had no adequate answer. How could she help? She might've been powerful, but she was a marked woman, they'd kill her immediately. "Anything is better than just waiting around. They aren't even trying to find her, they think she's dead." Ginny whispered quietly, as so no one would hear her, "I have an idea where she is, even if it's a foggy dream. I need to help."
Hermione smiled softly, stopping suddenly and turning to her, "Ginny, I'm sure Katrin would appreciate the gesture, but she wouldn't want you throwing yourself into any danger because you think what the teachers are doing isn't working."
"Why would Katrin care? As long as she was free-"
"Merlin!" Hermione exclaimed, putting her head in her hand, "You're worse than Harry! Ginny," She put a hand on the girl's arm, "Katrin-"
Hermione was cut off as the sound of heels walking through the hall came. The two turned to see Prisistance Boyle scurrying over to them. Her blonde hair wasn't styled, her make up was smeared and runny, and she held a handkerchief. Ginny blinked a few times, not recognizing the woman until she smiled at them.
"Hello, you two," Her voice was hoarse, as if she'd been gargling firewhiskey. Ginny wasn't sure if the guess was that far off, actually, "Nice to see you... Always nice to see her friends." The woman blew her nose.
"Um, hello Ms Boyle. Are you okay?" Ginny asked, noting her dark eyes. Prisistance smiled, wrapping her arms around herself. Her clothes were wrinkly, the end of the robes were wet as though with melted snow. Though, it hadn't snowed the night before. Yet again, there was always snow in Hogsmead.
"Fine... Fine... Nothing to worry about. I was just heading to Gryffindor tower actually, got a bit lost." She glanced around the hallway as if looking for a sign that said 'Gryffindor Commons! This way!'. She had no such luck.
"Why would you be going to Gryffindor Commons?" Hermione asked, her eyebrows furrowing in suspicion. The woman smiled.
"Why, to see my son of course." Ginny blinked, processing this information.
"I didn't know Katrin had a brother." She pointed out, glancing at Hermione. Especially one in Gryffindor.
Prisistance dried her eyes and laughed, "Yes, my first born. Cain Boyle."
