Chapter 9

Feeling relieved that Mark did not ask anymore questions, we entered the car.

"Jin ae-yah why are you wearing glasses today? Is your eyesight bad or something?" Yura unnie asked turning to look at me at the backseat.

"yes unnie and because I didn't get to sleep properly it is exceptionally bad today" I explained avoiding eye contact hoping she wouldn't notice my swollen eyes.

She gave me a knowing look before turning her head in front. Not long after that my phone vibrating notifying that I have received a message. Fishing my phone from my uniforms pocket I read the message that is from Yura unnie.

Surprised that she would message me while we are together on the same car I quickly opened the message,

Yura Unnie: Is there something wrong? You don't look good...

Jin ae: Nothing's wrong Unnie. It's just that I had a really bad headache earlier, don't worry I already took medication and rested on the clinic. Thanks for asking anyway.

Lying is better than explaining everything and being honest now will only complicate things.

Yura Unnie: Alright. If you are going through something don't hesitate to come to me ok?

Jin ae: Yes unnie. Thank you :)

I leaned back my head closing my eyes to rest during the ride home. When we drop off unnie, Mark asked me if I'm sick. I just brush him off telling him that it's just a headache.

Mark approached me when we arrive home,

"Jin. Don't worry about making dinner and just rest in your room"

Glad that I don't have to prepare dinner, well I'm not in the mood either. I nodded on response before making my way to my room.

After changing out from my uniform, I lay in my bed and started crying again stifling my sob not wanting Mark to hear me.

How will I even get to talk to Jackson? His phone is broken and I'm afraid that if I call their house he will just ignore me. The only chance that I will have will be on tomorrow's gathering his family is also invited.

Letting myself relax I drift into a slumber.

Mark's POV

When Yura and I arrived at the parking lot earlier, I noticed that Jin ae looks more sick that in the morning. She just gave us a forced smile when we talked to her about Jackson.

That guy why would he need to go somewhere leaving a sick girl alone. I intentionally didn't ask her about it cause I know she doesn't wanna be noticed.

Halfway through the ride Yura talked to her but it was short, after that I noticed that Yura and Jin ae are having a conversation thru messaging.

What is it that they are hiding. Err maybe it's a girl thing or is it the time of the month? When we drop off Yura, I saw her took a nap her head creased making me more worried.

These past few days she's been acting different, not really different but she's more silent than she usually do, she barely teases me now unlike before. And yesterday when she asked to be drop off to the mall and told us to go first, I almost let Yura take a cab just to go with her. What tick me off the most is when she did not pick up any of my calls and went home late and she didn't even bought anything.

I'm just a bit relieved that Jackson took her home. But I wasn't able to hold in my worry and the worst happened, I screamed at her venting all my anxiousness which resulted with us arguing.
