Summer nights of purple hue
When the morning dew
Would stick to your glasses
And at the time
I knew I was in love with you.
When we would bathe in the sun
And use the leafs as towels when we were done,
Hanging them out to dry
On the branches of trees.
We'd converse with the bees
And drink their sweet honey.
Sit in the sunny fields of wildflowers.
We'd spend hours
laying there and chatting,
Napping in the shade of willows,
Using their roots
As pillows.
After waking up from our nap
We would taste their sugary sap.
Do you recall that summer
When the butterflies would flutter around?
Before we were drowned
In our own tears.
Now it's been years since I've seen your face,
But I still remember that place
If love and laughter.
I still remember
The forest of Happy Ever After.
