It has been 2 days since you arrived at Toriel's house in the Ruins. Toriel has filled you in about the monsters and the Underground. You told her about Flowey the Flower but this just made her tense up and look uneasy. You decide not to mention it again.
After dinner you decide to ask Toriel how to leave The Ruins. Her eyes become full of sadness. She had been expecting this question. "I'm sorry (Y/N), but I cannot let you leave." Toriel said with a sigh.
"Why?" You ask, trying not to raise your voice. "Because I'm afraid you will get hurt my child." She replies her eyes filled with worry and sorrow. "Please Toriel, I am strong enough. I promise." You say, choosing your words carefully. "If you go, you must promise never to come back. I hope you understand." At this point she looks like she is about to cry.
Toriel walks you downstairs and unlocked a heavy, metal door. "Be safe my child." Toriel says with tears in her eyes.*Leaving the Ruins fills you with DETERMINATION.
As you walk down the snowy path you start to sing an old song from a distant memory.
I though of angels,Choking on their halos,
Get them drunk on rose water,
See how dirty I can get them,
Pulling out their fragile teeth,
And clip their tiny wings,
All of a sudden you hear a crunch of a tree branch behind you. You stop singing and freeze up. You slowly turn around to see a smiling skeleton a little shorter than you standing in front of you. He has a fluffy blue jacket on.
Crap crap crap crap crap I'm dead you think as he reaches his hand out towards you. "Hi I'm Sans," he says in a deep voice. In your shock you subconsciously shake his hand. A farting noise echoes through the trees. You look at his hand to see a whoopee cushion laid on his hand.
You can't help but burst out laughing. Sans starts to laugh to. *Your introduction to Sans fills you with DETERMINATION. You start to loosen up and you say, "I'm (Y/N). I'm afraid I might be lost." Sans nods and says, "Technically I should be capturing you but I'm not really in the mood to capture anyone today."
Him saying this makes you relax a little more. You take a deep breath. "But my brother Papyrus really really wants to catch a human so I would watch out for him," Sans says with a shrug. You start to tense up again."Dont worry kid, I'll keep an eye out for ya, even though I don't even have any eyes," he says with a laugh.
You laugh a bit and then thank him. "Also Papyrus isn't even that dangerous. Even if he tries to be." Sans adds. You guys start to walk down the trail. Sans tells a bunch of crappy puns as you walk which makes you laugh. Suddenly he stops. "Quickly kid! Get behind that conveniently shaped lamp!" You quickly get behind the lamp as a taller skeleton walks up.
"SANS! YOU LAZY BONES WHAT ARE YOU DOING? SHOULDN'T YOU BE ATTENDING TO YOUR PUZZLES?!" A skeleton who you guess is Papyrus says. "Don't worry bro, I've gotten a ton of work done today. A skele-ton." Sans replies coolly. You try not to giggle. "OK FINE WHATEVER," Papyrus says and walks away.
(Quick A/N: I think imma skip all the puzzle stuff because everyone already knows all of it so sorry but Author - Chan is lazy)~•Time skip brought to you by W.D. Gaster•~
After completing Papyrus's puzzles you and Papyrus start to become friends. At the end of the trail Sans comes up to you. "Uh thanks kid for not hurting my brother's feeling and doing all those puzzles." He says rubbing his neck. "You're welcome. Your brother is actually pretty cool," you reply. Sans chuckles and when you blink you find that he is gone.
"Wha- What?" You say out loud and look around but still don't see him. You shrug it off and walk towards a little village across the hill.~~~~~~A/N~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hayran Kurgu(I'm getting rid of the old cringey description because I am a very professional writer [not really]) (Y/N)'s whole life changed when they fell in a hole on the side of a mountain and met a short, punny skeleton. This is a gender neutral book which...
