9 ~ Gaster

"Heya, (Y/N)?" Sans asks as he closes the door to the house. "Mmhmm," you reply sleeply as you fall onto your side on the couch. "I was thinking maybe you could sleep in my room if you want to," he says, his words catching you off guard. "What? Why?" You say clearly confused. He chuckles a little bit and responds,"I don't want you to be alone if you have those nightmares again. That's all. It's completely up to you." Your heart races as you sit up from the couch.

       "I-Uh sure," you say in a flustered voice as you gather up your blankets. You trudge up the stairs to San's room. Holy moly, calm yourself (Y/N), he's just trying to be a good friend. Calm down it's nothing more than that, you think to yourself. You lay down your blanket on his bed and lay down on the very edge of the right side of the bed. You don't want to be intruding.

       Sans comes in and says,"U-uh sorry if this makes you uncomfortable. I won't touch you. I promise. I don't want to come off as a perv." You smile to yourself a little bit and snuggle up to your blankets. "Ok thanks Sans, I trust you," you respond truthfully. He lays down next to you with his back to you. There is at least a foot of space between you two. See, he's just being a nice friend. This doesn't mean anything, you try to convince yourself.

Darkness, it's everywhere. A man is standing directly in front of you. He is tall with endless black holes for eyes and strange cracks on his face. You are afraid he's another creature like Chara that's come to your dreams to torment you. Instead he puts and arm on your shoulder and smiles a little bit. Something about his smile makes you calm down. He seems like he doesn't want to hurt you. He says one word,"Determination."

You wake up. Not sweaty and breathing hard like when you see Chara, but with and odd feeling in your mind. You feel like something is watching you, but not in a threatening way if that makes any sense. Like a parent watching a child from a distance. You sit up for a moment to regain your surroundings. You remember that you are in Sans's room and blush deeply.

"Kid? Is something wrong?" You hear the deep yet familiar voice ask. You jump a little and respond,"No, I'm fine. I just had an odd dream." He sits up and looks at you, his right eye socket bright blue. "Are you alright? Was it Chara? What did she say? Did she threaten you? Did she hurt you? What happened? Tell me everythi-" he rants on. "Sans calm down! It wasn't Chara." You interrupt. He seems to calm down.

"It was a tall man with cracks on his face. He only said one thing. It was 'determination'," you explain. His eye sockets widen as he listens to your story. "Th-tha-that's m-m-my dad," he manages to say before burying his head in his hands.
