1. First Scenario
"Daddy, are we gonna die?"
"Yes son but I'm required to tell you no because then you feel comforted and then you don't feel worried as much. Then I normally hug you to make you feel even more comforted. The death might be painful. They might slowly kill you or maybe a little faster and not waste time like a zombie invasion. It might even be painless like a shot to the head. But son, don't worry."
2. Second Scenario
"Daddy, are you okay?"
"Yes darling. I have a left broken arm and glass in my right arm. My left leg is completely broken and half my face is bandaged. They even stabbed me in the stomach right where you're sitting on. But don't worry, I'll be fine."
