"What?" Emery said as she thought over what she said, "I'm not a Telepath."
"Well, no. You're more of what we call Orbiuns. They are a cross of a Telepath and someone who can play tricks on your eyes. And can make your feelings change. You're the last Orbiun."
"What-" she took a step back as she looked at her hands. She imagined that she had perfect hands. And she did. Her hands were flawless. She looked at her ripped jeans and imagined that they were those really pretty skinny jeans. And they were.
She looked up and imagined that her hands and jeans were normal.
And they were.
"How am I-"
"I'll explain later. We have to run."
"Who's we-"
"Go!"
They both ran. Fast. Emery screamed as she could hear Thane right behind her. She tried using her Orbiun abilities but he wasn't affected at all. She ran and ran until she was positive she wasn't followed.
She still couldn't understand why Thane kept showing up everywhere. It was like she had someone stalking her. She shuddered at the feeling that he was and Orbiun too.
Orbiun. How come her grandmother didn't tell her? They never kept secrets. Or did they?
She started crying at the thought of Thane killing her grandmother. She hated the fact that it still haunted her.
She also hated the fact that both of her parents had died. And now her grandmother too.
She wasn't going to stop, though. She was going to keep pushing forward. Because she knew somewhere out there there was a relative. She would find them. And she would finally be home.
